I really am trying to figure out why

a) dont have a vin number
B) can not find out if I even have a car
C) If my dealer is a moron

Has anyone who ordered with the x-plan recieved their car. I would understand a little more if only a few have, but if there are alot of people who have recieved their car....then I am out of reasons to give Ford and Crown Ford in Nashville the benifit of the doubt. :notnice:

X-Plan is between you and your dealer and shouldn't effect you getting the car in any way. So I pick C.

Ask the right questions and you'll get the right answers.

1. How many Mustang GT's do you have allocation for in a week?
2. How many have ordered before me that haven't been pulled for production yet?

If he gives you a straight answer about that, you'll be able to figure out to within a week when your car will be pulled for production (A.K.A getting your VIN)

Here's my formula:

I placed my order, 6 other people were ahead of me. I asked my dealer what his allocation was. His answer: 1.2 Mustang GT's a week (Every 5 weeks they get an extra).

So that tells me that my order won't be pulled for production for at the most 6 weeks from when I order.

On week 5 I got my VIN! The extra allocation kicked in.

It really is that simple.

Ok I was the first person to order at the dealership. They had 5 ordered for their Dealership. They have an allocation of 5. Their cars lasted about an hour on the dealership lot. They have not had any new cars since and it has been about three weeks.

My dealer got several in at once, but won't be getting any for a couple weeks, she wasn't sure why-maybe shipping issues.

The dealer I am ordering mine through must have a great allocation. Since they got their first 2005 they always seem to have one and infact they even have 2 that they rent out.

Anyways they said they would do A plan with me so they've got my business.

I just got off the phone with my dealer and i asked him about allocation and how many were ordered before mine. He told me that mine was a special order so that these things did not matter, that when mine was shipped i would not have to wait for them to sell there alloted number before mine could be sold. He is also still standing strong saying that he does not expect me to get a vin for 4 weeks (i ordered 10/27) He also has no clue what a DORA is. So he is suppose to be calling em back to let me know about that. Just so i know what i am talking about...simply what is the DORA...is it the paper that describes what i got in my car and all the infor on ym car itself? What is the purpose of having a DORA?

Mine was the third one ordered from the dealer. The first 2 came in together about 2 weeks ago. Mine is on it's way and due in next Friday. I knew I was 3rd in line and had to wait but it's worth it. I am getting
X-plan too. They would have sold the first one to me but I didn't order till July.

Your dealer would make me very nervous. Allocation and how many ahead of you are almost the only things that do matter (aside from commodities issues). He is right in telling you that you his inventory has no bearing on when you pick up your car once it arrives.

As far as the DORA, there is another current thread (possibly started by you?) that describes the importance of a DORA.

If they can't even tell you where you stand, you're in for a potentially long process in my opinion.

Good luck
