WOW......... I love this car !
My GT is starting to break in nicely at 700 miles and feels faster than when new. I went for a backroads ride here In Lake County (Fla) on some roads I know well. Nice and wide, seldom used with limited sideroads.
Ended up in Daytona for lunch. This car is noticed by MANY people, all postive.
This car feels great in 3rd gear, running up to redline. 100 comes fast and she pulls hard into 4th...ran up to 120 quickly (before anyone gets mad, it was as safe as possible, no other cars and backed down after those speeds). I have owned and driven some fast cars, and this Stang is very smooth and stable, tracks dead ahead at speed. She is much more rewarding to drive than my '01 Bullitt was. She sounds fantasic running up the gears, but when she cruises in 5th (at 80) all is quiet. The Shaker 500 is a fantastic sound system.
I own a 6 cylinder Honda Valkyrie motorcycle, (1/4 mile in 12 sec) and I swear the stang is not THAT much slower. I believe the Hot Rod article that had the GT in the 12's with weight reduction only and just a chip (no blower).
You guys waiting for you GT's will not be sorry!

Yes Jeremy, it was a blast! What roads did I take? :nono: ...........I am not telling !
BTW my mileage for my 120 mile round trip today was 20.2, according to the car computer (which I believe to be correct). Not bad at all, quite respectable for a 300 HP car !

Had a similar experience with my GT during a Christmas visit to Jacksonville from Tampa and back. We actually stopped in Mount Dora for lunch on the way back.
Got it up to 80 or 90 once or twice very smartly and got 23 mpg to boot!! That included 35 minutes to go 3 miles in a I-75 back up at Ocala on the way up. SR 19 has some nice stretches for flying. The trip took it over 1600 miles and it looks like the computer is still learning how I want it to behave!
I'm really jealous of those of you who can actually drive your car. Where I live there are no open roads, traffic even at 3AM on the freeway and streets. According to the computer I have been averaging 16 mph and 12.5mpg.
