The 2 cars don't really do the same thing. If the rumors about the stripped out interior, and reduced weight are true, then Boss is more suited to being a track or race car, and the GT (like the more expensive GT500)is more suited to being a touring car.

It all boils down to what you want. Personally, I like my leather seats, my upgraded interior, and CD changer. So no, I wouldn't want the boss.

I'd keep my 05v6 as a daily driver, get the boss as my summer weekend/fun car!

I don't have a 2005, but I would buy one to match my 1970 Boss. I would love to see one in one or several of the 1969 or 1970 colors.

Maybe by then someone will have made a OE style GT grille that doesn't have the running pony in the center. That way you could put whatever emblem you want in it's place. i.e. A 69/70 tri-bar grille pony like the ones pictured above.

Seems to me like it would be the ideal aftermarket grille if it were made OE style with nothing on it and then let people decide what they want in there and where to put it. It's a lot easier to cut foglight holes than it is to fill them in. One grille would sell to everyone that wanted to mofify their grille and keep it lookg OE.

EXAMPLES:
1.Center fogs (which the user could decide how far apart they wanted them and how far they stuck out)
2. no fogs (V6 clone)
3. no pony, but add fogs (69/70 style)
4. no pony & no fogs (65 Shelby style)
5. no pony, no fogs, add emblem of your choice in the center

The combinations are endless. I guess that idea just makes too much sense. Why make ONE product that would sell to a LOT of people when you can make several that wouldn't sell to anywhere near as many people? I guess profit isn't a goal of most aftermarket companies.

OK. I'm done with my rant. Sorry. Just needed to vent.

well i have an 06 but i wouldn't trade it in. i would keep my GT for modifying and having fun with. If I have the money at the time I'd get a Boss and try to keep it as original as possibly for 20-30 years down the road when the value shoots up on them.

Maybe not for a boss...depending on what it had in it.

But a an 08 bullitt might convince me.
I'd love to have DHG on the S197
Then again, if theres a DHG BOSS that would be even better...

I've held off buying a S-197 to wait and see what SEs were coming out.

I still don't know what to believe. Some say it's gonna be a Bullitt, others say the next SE will be a Boss. Some say the Boss got the axe, others say they will never build another Bullitt.

In the interim I will keep driving my 96GT and saving my pennies.
