Would you trade in your 05 GT for an 08 Boss?
If ford built a 34K 2008 Boss Mustang (390hp V-8) with styling very similar to this (http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=50554) would you trade in your 2005 GT?

If this poll had posted about 6 weeks ago, would have been in the "depends" category. But after alot of thought, decided I was going to keep my 05. Its a great car and I came to the conclusion that it would stay in the family. Now that I have put the $ into the s/c versus saving for when/if the Boss came out - its a moot point

If it does come out in 08 as stated my 05 will be paid off in 08 so I'd keep my 05 and get the Boss. But these would be my last purchase till I drop dead(think I've said 100x ina life time hehe).Unless the restyle 09MY looks really goooooooood!

It depends. How are they getting 390 hp? What makes it special? Not with bullit wheels, they're cool, but getting too common. The Cervinis B2 nose would help a bit. Also, what have GT500 prices come down to? I'd love to have one, depending.....

I love my 05 too much to get rid of it. I plan on it staying in the family as well. When it gets paid off, it's becoming the weekend car while I find some other, hopefully more economical, daily driver.

Yes if the motor is bigger and naturally aspirated. I really want my car to sound muscular, but I am having a hard time finding someone with a 281 that just sounds sinister. If the Boss has a larger motor (i.e. 302 or 351) then it would make more power and potentially sound "meaner".
I'm waiting for a 427 with cams and header dumps!

It depends... on how the '09 Mustang turns out and what motor they would put in an '08 Boss. Ford is notorious for having the chance to do great things, but somehow doing the exact opposite .
A 5.4L n/a motor in a Boss would be real real tempting, especially if they screw up the '09 MY redesign.
A 4.6L in a Mach1 combined with Ford adding shoulders/hips and not getting rid of the 65/66 roofline would make it an EXTREMELY easy descision.
On a side note:
Shaun, what do you think of the SLP LM's? IMO, they have a more accurate, true muscle car sound than anything else out there. Definitely "sinister". All the others sound great, but they make me think new and modern as opposed to old school muscle car.

That's not that impressive of a car, most of the additions are just tacked on, well besides the blower ![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I would wait and do a few mods and get like 325-350 hp out of the GT's, good enough if you ask me.

Not a chance....... I've got too many fond memories of my '05, and it was the 1st one in Longview for quite some time before anybody else had one. Plus I like having the 1st year of the new platform........

Seems like a waste of money to me, since I already own a 05 Mustang GT. If I didn't, I'd surely be interested. If I were rich, then maybe, but then again if I were rich I'd have one of each.

not if the car looks like the yellow one, (no offense). now if it looks kinda like mine when im done with it, then maybe i would. i also would be looking at the new camaro, or trans am/gto if they make it, and it seems like they will crush the fords in power, since the SS/WS6 versions are going to have a 7.0!

I've been patiently waiting to order an 07GT (I don't want it being delivered just in time for winter). But these rumors really fumble things up, I don't know if I can wait THAT long to get a sportscar, but this sounds like exactly the car I'd want. Maybe I'll grab something like a 95GT for a while and have the Boss on order, and then sell the 95?
The perfect Boss/Mach whatever you want to call it for me is.
S197 bodystyle
5.4 n/a 375+hp v8
5 speed stick (I won't complain if it's a 6spd)
shaker hood
GT500 lower fasica, but regular GT headlights (what the Parnelli front looks like)
69/03 Mach looking seats
(This car minus the racing numbers and in alloy gray)

I don't think I could honestly trade in my car. I pretty much have all the mods I want (sans the wheels and blue leather inserts, which will come with a year), and it is everything I ever wanted. Had I kept it stock, I think I would, but with all the mods I have done, I'd have to say no I wouldn't trade it.

Just depends
I doubt that I would unless it really struck my fancy..I also like having one of the first ones out there and it's' getting setup exactly the way I want it to be. I don't really want to go through that stuff again but I would like a little bigger engine that can handle a few more ponies. THen again, this one will be paid for by then as well so it's doubtful I will go through a new car routine again.
