ii got a vin# for car today. its almost ready! WOOT!!!!!

although it has been serialized it has not been given a build date as of yet. does anyone know an approxiate time frame on how much longer ill have to wait? im gonig nuts here

 

Mine was built about week and a half after I got my VIN.

 

Congratulation on your vin .It's starting to look like the week of Jan 24 for IUP to be built again from other people posting in this forum ,but I would say the first week of febuary with a delivery date of the begining of march wouldn't be too far off. Just check my signature (as well as others) that are keeping track of how things progress for us and this will give you a rough idea. ^_^

 

well i removed the IUP n took the ISAP 18R cause i didnt care really about the my color thing or the message center. i jsut wanted the dash n i found the aftermarket kits can do that for me as well and look jsut as good.

 

Sorry Ron ,but I saw it still in your signature.Without the IUP you could move right to the front of the pack and have it built in a week or two with delivery in about 2 to 3 weeks ( some sooner).that would put you about the first week of febuary ....some where in there.

Ok I'm confused?? I ordered my car on 19 Oct 04, I called the dealer, the DM, and Ford and of todays date they all say there is no VIN available till all the parts are compiled???? Why do I keep thinking somethings up????? please someone tel me whats going on....

 

did you ask your dealer what their allocation is and if they are even alotted a car for you, you ordered long enough ago that you should have a car by now, if not a build date... i would be pissed off

 

It all depends on the current status of you car. Mine went to "clean, unscheduled" for almost 3 months while it was on hold & then finally in Dec it changed to "submitted to plant" & then "a build week of 1/3" basically. It wasn't until I got the build week that I recieved a vin. I called today, well, yesterday 1/6 & it was "bucked" whick means in production. So I think it depends on your status. If you have a build week I would then be suspicious. If not then I don't think you really have anything to worry about. But I can't be sure.

Call your dealership & talk to the general manager or sales manager. My general manager usually directs me to the sales manager. He says the sales manager gets a print out every morning on the status of their ordered cars. So, I would call or stop by & talk to one of those. JMO. Good luck with it either way.

thanks all, as you can imajine waiting this long is murder, I talked to another dealership, and asked if they could search the US for a stang matching the one I want and ordered, there are none to be found!!! so i gues I have to wait and wait
