wms cai?

Has anyone seen this or is using one of the CAI's from Western Motorsports?

They say you do not need a tune and the air is a straight shot in, no turns like most CAI's

The WMS is quite good. The only downsides to it is that you have to relocate your coolant tank and lengthen your Mass Air Flow wiring.
As far as requiring no tune.... Well, the guys who do tuning and others who have had it done will tell you that ANY CAI that flows significantly more air will tend to run lean meaning that you should at least get the air/fuel ratios checked/set.

I've got it and love it. I've got a tuner, and wouldn't get any CAI on this car without one. The 05+ computer is very picky.

I would want a tune as well.
Would the companies that write tunes would theirs work or would it be better to have one written for this CAI or does this matter?

I put mine in without the tune and it ran fine. It cahnge the sound of the exhaust as well. After I change the exhaust to a Magnaflow Cat back system I did a tune from JDM Engineering in Freehold and the Mustang ran great, almost a WOW factor. It turned 13.303 at 103.97 in the 1/4. If you get the filter make sure you also get the air box. Shannon Wall at WMS was great to deal with.

Why couldn't they provide a MAF extension harness?

As for aftermarket CAI's making it run lean - that is correct, unless you import the correct air transfer function into your PCM calibration (via a tune/flash).

They claim there is no Male plug available for the harness extension.

I have a question about the filter. Is it a K&N and if not, is it reusable??

I don't know who actually make it, but it is a reusable K&N type filter
