I've been reading this site for about a year now and now that I'm finally a Mustang owner I have just one question. Will I ever turn the radio up while I'm driving or will I always just want to hear the sound of the engine? I could have saved some money and just gotten a car without a radio!

Now that you're addicted, the answer is No, it doesn't wear off. I don't have a Mustang right now, and I roll my windows down to listen to cars with performance V8 at stop lights. A 4 or 6 cylinder doesn't compare, and the Mustang has the best sounding factory exhaust I've heard on a new car.

NEVER!!!!
You will hear that sound in your sleep Did you know that the first Flowmaster muffler was built in Santa Rosa Ca for a Mustang? He did one then people started asking for them. We had a tour of the plant and learned a lot. I have them on my other 3 Mustangs and I will never get tired of that sound Not sure if I will put them on the 06, sounds so good now

I find myself in the same dilema. The sound of the Flows bouncing off the canyon walls is irresitable.

The closest I ever get to that is revving the engine while going through an underpass....still do it every time though.

People asked me why I went for just the Shaker 500 and not the 1000 with the sub. My response, "and what, cover up that beautiful sounding exhaust?"
I still love to drive in 3rd at 60MPH just to hear it. And if there is a car with a great sounding exhaust near me at a stop light I'll turn off my radio and roll my windows down just to listen to it.

Can't see it ever wearing off. IMO. Took mine out last night for a final ride before it's winter rest(6-10inches of snow tonight) and my thought was "no radio to spoil this ride". When you have to put it away for a while you want to remember that "throaty growl".

yea nittany i know what you mean . Mine was even worse though . my new pony arrived the day before thanksgiving , i put 137 miles on her inbetween turkey dinners listening to that throaty growl .Then the next morning, bam , 5 inches of snow . Now i make numerous trips to the garage to just look at my pony in her winter slumber , so no i dont think it will ever wear off :P
