I'll probably be waiting to get my 05 stang until around may of 05, because I want to wait for the 18 inch wheels and also I want to see if there are any problems with the car. My question is, if I wait until may, is it likely there will even be any gt coupes left, with the high demand and all?

My guess is you would be able to get one easier at that time. The surge of people wanting them would be over and supply would catch up. It's not like they quit making them in the spring. They'll always be in production with something. Even if you got it late in the summer and could find the 05 you wanted their always be the 06's on the lot.

They will sell well. I don't think they are going to be that hard to find. You might have trouble the first few months. There will be plenty come spring, summer.

Well that makes me feel alot better. I plan on getting my 05 in May as well. Would like to get it sooner but no use with the Wi. winter and all. So I'm happy that people dont think they will be hard to find. I was a bit concerned

they usually take anywhere from 8-10 weeks depending on other factors. my dads ranger when he ordered it took 8 weeks. my moms 03 mustang took about 9 weeks. but if they have any production stops or problems it could take longer.

Sometime in October. 6-8 weeks after job 1, which is Sept 7.

Depends on what you mean by problems. Any major defects will be fixed under warranty, so I wouldn't worry about that. Engineering problems take a lot longer, at least to the next model year, unless it's a safety problem, in which case there will be a recall to fix the problem.

Build quality is a different story. If you look at most early VIN production vehicles, the panel alignment is usually kind of sloppy (the 300C comes to mind). Give them 8 weeks and things will tighten up a lot. I'm going to wait until Jan. '05 before I place my order.

That sounds like a plan! I'll order mine in early feb or late Jan. That way it's ready for me in the early spring :-)
