Me too. The only other thing is when a clown takes a clone to a small car show and tries to pass it off as real.

I have less than 24K into my 05 V6. Here is the mod list:

GT bumpers
GT fogs
GT exhaust
GT upgrade rims
GT sway bars
Painted mirror inserts
Procharger

Not to shabby considering when I bought it every dealer in my area was tacking on 3-4K in dealer mark-up for a GT. So while all the guys who paid 30K for a 26K car are laughing and bashing my lowly poser V6, Im sporting around 300rwhp for a hell of alot less cash than they paid.

If I could have gotten the GT for msrp, then I would have bought one, but I dont want any car bad enough to pay for some greedy dealers wifes new ****.

So Im happy with my V6, I considered tradding up to a 07 GT, but I have the GT looks, better performance, cheap insurance, and a low car payment.

Ok, personally my opinion comes from the ONE v6 I saw with GT badges on it... ON A DEALERS LOT.

I have no problem with people copying the appearance of other cars... Just don't put my running pony on your civic and we'll be ok.

Personally, I have no issue with body pieces such as side skirts, louvers, shoot, I don't even have a problem with a non GT grill on a V6. But I am against clones. Don't try to pass it off as something it is not. And it doesn't make it any better or different if you label it as a "tribute". You are still trying to pass it off as something it isn't.

I have seen this as well and it is the only time that inaccurate badging really bothers me. The V6 cars did not have the factory GT badge, but rather a sticker that read ‘GT-X’ along with some 20†wheels and some ugly graphics.

‘To each his own’ is my philosophy, but when a dealer labels a car as something it is not, even if it only similar in name, I think they are bordering on false advertising. Not every new car buyer that wants a Mustang knows a lot about them. This dealer practice is deceptive at best.

Live and let live................

My car just got back from the shop and here's the mods; California Special/Shelby GT/Shelby GT-H front fascia painted like a Shelby GT, Street Scene’s center mounted fog light grill, California Special/Shelby GT rear quarter “scoops”, Shelby GT 500/Calforina Special rear fascia painted like a California Special, Shelby GT 500 rear spoiler, Classic Design Concepts flat hood scoop. It also has 18 inch Shelby GS68 wheels, Flowmaster axle back exhaust, Steeda cold air kit w/Predator turn and Steeda underdrive pulleys and a Hurst Shifter (White Ball of course).

So the car in my opinion bares a resemblance to a ’67 Shelby and I will be putting on ’67 GT-350 emblems and lower rocker stripes. So, if someone wants to get their undies in a bundle over this “poser” car let’em!

When I get home I’ll post a couple of pictures.

Now if ‘ol Shel comes out with a GT-350 next year I’ll probably sell the car as a moded GT and get a real one…….. Then all you posers will feel my distain ........

Your Father Is a Hamster and Your Mother Smells of Elderberrie
Now, go away before I taunt you for a second time!

Yeah...that's EXACTLY what I was going to do. Most of my friends have joked about disowning me as a friend if I do it.

I was going to make 'Limey' into a 67' GT350 version. I really think it would look sweet. I would NEVER claim it's a real shelby or even a recreation. It would be what I think would make it look good.

Here's anothing thing I pointed out to my friends. "UH...Since shelby didn't make 05 mustangs in 67' and he's not making (currently) a 67' look-alike in an 05 body...HOW can it be a clone? There's no such thing. Same as a 'boss 302'...there isn't one made. Oh wait..Saleen is CLONING the Parnelli Jones 302...Is THAT a clone or is it ok cause Saleens doing it?

I would take exception ONLY if some dude claimed his car was a "REAL" whatever. Since most of these cars don't really excist (in an 05-07 body) what's the freakin' big deal ???

Oh..Merry Christmas All!!!!

Nothin' but love!
Jay

Bottom line in my reasoning reguarding clones

- You have to be as fast or faster than the car your makeing a clone of.

23655 on the sticker
paid 17 with 1.9 for 60
---> these are the deals on the 6's that you cant compare to the grand off gts that are 7 thousand more anyway. not worth it.

similarly equipped gt 30+sticker
no deal ..... 3 times the insurance (as said by insurance broker)

So all I have to do is put "II" after the "COBRA" and I'm ok?

05-07 GTs are just as fast (if not faster than) as 94-01 cobras, 03-04 Mach 1s, and 01 Bullitts, so cobra/Mach 1/Bullitt emblems are ok to use if I clone one of these?

05-07 GTs are already faster than the original GT-350s, GT-500s, Mach 1s, Boss 302s, 68 390 used in Bullitt etc. so putting these emblems are ok too?

Just playing devil's advocate.
