When I'm taking it easy on the 35-45mph roads I shift from 3rd to 5th (skipping 4) at 40 MPH. I get 20+ MPG during those days. I know I can drop to 3rd or 4th and get the HP I need at anytime. Just knowing feels good.

When I'm having fun, I go 4th to 5th at 65.

AHA! Now I know why I'm stuck in the 14mpg realm....5th gear....WE DON"T NEED NO STINKING 5TH GEAR!

You mean you guys can't squeel the tires in 5th at 40mph?

If crusing, I like to be under 2k.

Now, I shift closer to 2.5-3.5k. That may explain my low mpg.

I just love hearing my exhaust.

Broke 21mpg on a recent trip though. Tells me that its the type of driving I do in the city that results in 15mpg fuel efficiency.

When I drive it like I stole it (most of the time) my MPG is pretty bad. If I drive like my mom then it's decent.

I must be too young or something.. I cant imagine going into 5th below 60 and thats even a huge strech to me. It just feels like the engine is struggling too hard?
