The powder coating is very durable, I had powder coated rims on my other car and they were great. Unfortunately every dealer I have been to so far is adding the concept rims or their own (20 inch chrome wtf??) Don't sweat it, they will last and wear just as well if not better than the upgrade (concept) wheels.

If your still not sure, order the standard and I'll trade you the upgraded ones for em

Go Bullit! Changing your Order at this Point May or May not Cause a Delay! A lot of weird Things are Going on With Mustang Orders at This Time! I find it Strange That the Majority of Fords Accessory Wheels in their 2005 Wheel Catalog are BULLIT STYLE Wheels! In different color Combo's Ck it Out!

I saw an F-150 with the optional rims on it (well they looked exactly like them). AH-Ha that is where those rims belong, on a truck or tauras. What was ford smoking when they selected those rims as optionals. the 18 inch fan blades is what I call a TRUE Upgrade/Optional rim....DO you Agree???? I am sorry but if they were going to give me those things for free I would not take them. As far as that salesman, (charlatan) is concerned, tell him "No thanks!!" My bullitts are almost 4 years old and no chips, other than minor scratches from balancing, etc. the new stang looks sooo sweet with the bullitts and even better with the 18 inchers. The optional smust go ASAP

I have a black GT in route that I specificly order w/ the std. wheels, 'cause I liked them the most (and they are cheaper). But I almost ordered some glossy black, "Bullitt" style rims, instead of the std. gray ones, out of the accessories catalog. Same design as the std. rims, just different color options (I think 4-5 different colors including chrome). I almost had the salesman convinced to trade out the std. wheels w/ the black ones, but he caught on in the end. Black on black sure would look sweet!!! I'm sure someone out there with fork over the cash to differentiate their 'Stang.

The dealer said I should upgrade to the aluminum wheels on my GT. But I wanted the standard wheels. He said the paint would chip off. It is still clean and unscheduled so I was gonna change the order. Anybody with standard wheels give me your opinion on them please. Are they painted?
Thanks
I'm sure you can make this change to the standard wheel at this time, on your order. B)

I have the 17" Upgrade Wheels, and they have some paint on them as well. The whole wheel (all of them) is clear-coated, so they won't be any problem......unless you have irresponsible tire shops taking off and mounting tires carelessly.

Order what you want and wait it out. Unless ford says "Discontinued IUP 18G" Don't let your dealer talk you into anything YOU don't want. You will be way more informed on things here on Themustangsource than he ever will be. As far as the wheels go, I have the upgrade and like the way it looks whith Redfire, however, the Bullitts look good on some colors too. It helps to give the car more of the "retro" look if you like that too. If the car is unscheduled then nothing is set yet. The car is still in the system on paper and waiting for all the parts, paint, etc... to be scheduled to build your car. Good Luck! I hope you get what you want!

I am here to defend all of us that bought the upgraded rims. I didn't like them at first but then I thought how sick and tired I am of seeing bullits on every frigin stang on the road. So I got the upgraded ones and have not regreted it once. Just to show how much I am sick of bullits these "upgrades" are just for winter use and I will have different rims for the summer.

Standard, Bullit, Retro, Torque Thrust wheels!! Tell the salesman you want another salesman that wont try and talk you into spending more money on something you dont want. Id go to another dealer, IMO.
