Ok I ordered an '05 GT in May got that order dumped in June reordered June 24 got DORA same day and was told prioity is 11...I'm wondering who else ordered the same week and if so did you get a build date yet (or any other info)? I'm about ready to tell my dealer to forget it I going to Pontiac and buy a GTO

 

I got DORA and VOC. Dealer said i do have a VIN now but no scheduled delivery date as of now.

 

Just hang in there, I ordered the first week of June, still c\u. Dealer says maybe next week. Just make sure your dealer has the allocations.

 

Orderred the 25th of June. I'm still c/u. It is all about allocation and priority number. Though, you can have a priority 10 (the best they go for a normal situation), but if the dealer can't get the car because they have a very low allocation, you are out of luck. To my knowledge there is no way to find out allocation other than asking the dealer, and not too many dealers with low allocations are going to want to say so. I'm in a situation where I doubt my dealer has a very good allocation, but they took xplan and they say I'm 2nd on their list. But they won't say much about how many GTs they'll get. And there is no real way to know if they bump me for someone paying MSRP+.

I'm frustrated with this system of selling cars, if you can't tell. I guess it has its purpose, but it just seems like it is a big game that rewards dishonesty. I wish I could just put an order in with Ford and 'get in line'. If I were going to pay MSRP, I'd definitely jump ship and find another dealer, but xplan isn't so easy to come by around here.

 

Right there with you bro - ordered 6/13, have VOC and DORA but no VIN yet. I'm with Cornelius, I wish it was first come first serve, none of this allocation garbage, but what can you do? Someday your number will get pulled. You could be right around the corner and if you pull your order now you'll never know.

 

I'm with you. After 2 friends ordered '05s in JAN and never got them, I don't have much faith in the Ford way of doing things. A used '02/'03 Vette is starting to look tempting.

 

Hang in there guys. It will be soon. Ask your dealers about there allocation. if it is low try some of the dealers here in this forum. I have also seen Gary yeomans ford in Daytona Beach Fl get a lot of people '05 who ordered in June.

 

I agree its a very frustrating process but well worth the wait, I ordered mine on June 14 and got the Dora on 7-14-05, just got my Vin number today.

Gotta tell ya it's getting pretty old waiting and checking the ERL. I see lots of V6s on the road now. My opinion is Ford isn't making too many GTs because of the CAFE rules. Still wonder if all this baloney is worth it ecspecially since all three major domestic car makers report lower profits than in years past. My thinking is Ford sould be tring to get and keep as many customers as posible, this is no way to do that.

 

I went to the dealer back in June, and he had me order as a 05, in July it was reordered, on the 7th, and I just got seralized yesterday. Finally some movement.

 

I just checked the ERL and found my build date 8-15-05

 

I tell you, my C/U friends, it's the spoiler delete...

 

Not true. Some of the guys with build dates next week are with spoiler delete.

 

This is true, I'm serialized and probably blended and I have spoiler delete. How the heck did this rumor even get started anyways?

 

Try ordering a Pony V6. The build rate is only 15-20% of production.

I ordered a black GT premium WITH rear spoiler...I hate seeing so many V6's around knowing the list is so long for GTs.

 

They may have had enough to fill a few of the orders, but there doesn't seem to be enough to fill the all of the orders at the moment. The most common thing amongst us C/U's is spoiler delete.

 

no from Plantation Ford on 441. they are the sister dealership that i work for. from what i was told i had to order from there to get my d-plan. im just hoping that they get a larger allocation of GTs this year and mine will be one of the first ones. its goin on 3 months dangit and there are people that orderd way after me and they are gettin built already..what the heck!? :bang:
