Thumbs down

I recieved a VIN # from my dealer today on a updated copy of my order receipt. B) To double check it is correct, I would like to figure out what all the codes mean...

My VIN is 1ZVFT82H7551XXXXX (I left the last five off on purpose.)

If anyone is curious, it is around 19,000.

T82 - Obviously means GT

Twelveth - Seventeenth Position..

The Production Sequence Number

Some where between... 100001 - 290000

Ford does not have the production capability to make more than 190,000 Mustangs for the 2005 Model Year.

Do the modern cars have cowl or data tags that specify the options, dates etc...? I didn't see one on my Honda.

i know that you are correct about what this position means, but why is it necessary? Doesn't the T80 or T82 take care of whether it is v6 or v8?
