What are you talking about and what does it have to do with a 2005 Mustang?

ezpass is a box that is used to pay tolls. in the upper middle of the front windshield is the photo of the mustang. i dont want to put on top of this design so the box shows alot being this low in front of windshield.

EZ Pass is something we have in the northeast for highway tolls. It's a little white box you put in your front windshield that lets you just drive through special lanes at the tolls, and it deducts the toll from your bank account electronically. Basically it's a transponder.

I think NJ, NY, ME, and MA have it. ME uses Transpass but it's the same thing. NH will be getting EZ Pass later this year.

Why don't you want to put it on top of the design, will it not work there?

I'm not sure but you can't really see the design much anyway, the rearview mirror is in the way.

I believe that they make a speical front plate mounting transponder that you can request. They had to make this because some luxurt cars have specialized glass that they wont "beam" through. Looks like the Mustang might even be one. I don't think you have to really prove that you have that type of car, just tell them thats what you want.

We have ezpass too. I have yet to put the little stick strips up in my new baby. Just having a hard time putting that ugly box in the windshield too. I can confirm that it does work through the windshield though. So far I've just held the ezpass up to the window in the spot that it should be while I go through the toll. I get the "toll paid" confirmation every time. I know that this isn't a solution but until I figure out what I want to do with the ugly little white box it works!

I know it looks awful, but I didn't want any hassles with non-payment of tolls.

Dang, I'm glad we don't have toll roads here in the midwest. I would hate to have that ugly piece of junk on my windshield. But what can you do. Maybe break the gate doing 98, and watch those Mustangs roll. God that sounded stupid.

Here in Houston there are sensors on all the freeways to monitor the EZ Tags, not just on the toll roads. Nominally they're used to track freeway speeds, but there have been cases where the tracking data for individual users has subpoenaed for legal proceedings.

If you have to have one of these things, the best place for it is the glove compartment. Only display it when going through toll booths.
