When will supply catch demand?
When do you suppose the hype will subside and we can go order a Stang without the dealer acting like they have a one of a kind on their hands? I’m thinking six months, any other ideas of how long it might take??
The funny part is that I don't think that the hype is even started yet.
I'll bet that 80% of Americans don't even know that there is a new mustang coming out.
Wait til people see them. Thats when the real hype will start.

I actually can't wait to see a new Camaro... that also means new Firebird or similar.
Chevy HAS to build it -- the Mustang will get each dollar in this market for years otherwise (I'll bet it's already in Chevy's pipeline too)

I'll take bets that this car will have a rebate by memorial day. (I'd take Easter at 2:1 odds, LOL). This is a REGULAR production vehicle, Ford will offer rebates, they always do. All the fanatics (us) will buy them up early, but the shoppers are just that. I sell these for a living and trust me people buy "the deal" just as much as they buy the car. It is extremely cool, but there is always something bigger, better, newer, hotter or whatever coming.
Ford needs to sell cars, this needs to be a volume car. They will make that happen. We keep hearing about 50,000 pre-orders, my guess is that 15-20,000 of those are for rental companies, 25,000 for dealer stock inventory and 10,000 or less actually sold units. This is a huge Mustang fans site and there are less than 200 legitimate, solid orders amungst all of us. This is just my guess, but mark my words, rebates will come sooner than most are predicting.
Or, maybe I'm just goofy!

too bad, chevy would have needed both cars to even come close to matching the sales of the 05
Camaro (or whatever it's gonna be called), IIRC is not going to be available until late 2006 or 2007. I think. Been a while since I cared.
Anyway, Mustang will have a giant lead whenever it does come out.
BTW, GTO will be in a NA factory MY 2007 as well. With a different chassis and sheetmetal (and hopefully better tail lights!) Again, IIRC, really don't care.

They would have to design a killer comaro to compete as far as sales go. I have a feeling that the camaro is going to be big bucks. If they build a nice looking car, (hopefully one like those computer animations i have seen) throw the LS2 in it and keep it under 30K (which they wont) id buy it in a sec. Since i know they will probably disappoint me on the design end and the price, ill just go for the stang and invest in a few boltons
