Man, when I saw fall 2005 I thought it would be August/September. I used to work at a Ford dealership here in Memphis and thats when all the new models usually came out. But some dealers that I have talked to say beginning of the year. Has anyone heard anything else?

September they will start arriving, but you know that supplies will be limited for the first few months until dealer inventories can be built up.

Once this happens, dealers can't mark up the prices as inventory increases. I am personally waiting until the '06s come out next fall. I want to see reviews, see owners comments, listen to issues/problems, plus I want 18" wheels from the factory which reportedly won't be available until '06.

Lastly, you should never buy 1st year production cars.

Take a look at Fords track record.
New 04 F150 without a hiccup.
Ford also knows the new Stang is bread for them, so they have processed it in the same vein. Plus its been delayed more times than I can remember now, so I'm sure they are trying to get things right.


I had just as many things wrong with my 02 than the 99s when it was first year.

First year model purchases don't scare me one bit.

I bought the first year Avalanche(02) and have never had a problem. The only recall was for tailgate cables that might fail. American car quality has come a long way since those 1st production problems of the 80's.

I bought the first year body style for my 99 honda and 100k miles and not one thing wrong with it yet. I think in today's age, car manufacturers are putting all these new cars through the ringer to work out all the bugs etc. I think the saying "don't buy the first year production cars" used to ring true but nowadays I think it's not a big issue or as a big issue as it used to be. B)

My step-dad who has been a mechanic for over 20 years told me the same. Said these days that is not true. Any car has the same potential for problems, it is not greater in the beginning.

Think about how many Stangs people have taken pictures of driving around. Thank about how many months of testing this car has gone through. I'd bet any major problem they found, was addressed, fixed, and retested. I believe Ford did their homework. If you want to find a manufacturer that hasn't...........look at Nissan. Titan, Armada, 350Z and it's twin the G35, plus manual Maximas. They pushed them out the door, and the quality is poop.

My first new car was a 82 and 1/2 ford E.X.P a first year car (does anyone remember those?)and I had it for 7 years and it was great !! B)
