Back in '87 or '88 their was some buzz in the mustang community about Ford building a 25th anniversary retro mustang. It eventually got poo pooed. I've been waiting ever since.

When I saw the concept at the 03 Chicago Auto Show. From that point I pretty much wanted an 05 Mustang, and even with the recent purchase of a house I specifically wanted my mortgage to be X dollars so I could afford the car payment. So the car influenced my house decision too. hehe

I've been saving coin for a new car ever since I bought my last one in '97.

I wanted a two door, rwd performance car. I was just about to pull the trigger on the only viable option out there in my price range in '03 (a 350Z), then I saw the concept car on TV . . . .

Needless to say, I put my money back in my pocket and waited . . . and I'm darn glad I did .

I've been anticipating this car for a while....first let me start by saying I've always wanted a 60's model stang and when the body change occured in 94 I told everone I would get one soon, I bought myself a 98 as a highschool graduation present (in '98) then at the San Diego Car Show (I believe in '00 or '01) they were debuting the Bullett, and I was talking to a worker from the plant that was at the show and he had similar interests as mine of which stangs he thought were the best... he told me that to hold off, because the next Mustang will be "the best looking Mustang ever built" and that it would be completely new and different and thats all he could say, well he said enough.... from that moment I've been anxiously waiting for this car.

Someday I will add a Red 64 1/2 Vert w/ white top and a 67 GT500 to add to the collection. And then from there who knows....sky's the limit I guess.

Well, this being my 8th mustang since 1986, it was inevitable. I loved the look of the '05 from concepts to production, but I had just purchased on '03 svt 5-door focus and I absolutley loved that car. ( I also had a '99 GT at the time) I knew if I could stay away from the ford dealership, I would be able to pay-off the focus and maybe get an '06 or '07 GT, but I went and test drove one. (Dumb) Sold the svt to my brother-in-law (so I can see it now and then) and ordered the '05. Took delivery April 15th. Best tax day I've ever had!

Saw one of the Steve McQueen commercials, and was very impressed with the looks of the new Stang. Told hubby I really liked them, and then I was able to test drive one in Feb. and I was hooked. Finally on April 7, I became proud owner of an '05 White GT!!!
Love the Stang!!! :worship:

Always been a Mustang fan (had an 88 GT vert) and fell in love with the concept car as soon as it hit the autoshows. Didn't know if I could wait, and also liked the 350Z which was already out. I was a little dissapointed when I first saw the production version but it really grew on me. I'm glad I waited.

At the 2003 Auto show I asked the rep when they would be out... The rep told me 16 months. That put me at July 2004 when I did my research, and I ordered in the beginning of August 2004, she arrived in November. I knew I wanted the car as soon as I saw the concept.

2003 auto show in Detroit was great, the Mustang concept and the Ford GT (40) stole the show for me. I guess GM’s hydrogen prototype took 3rd. As much as I like the concept Mustang I like the production 2005 better.

The only mistake was thinking it would be better to order late enough to get it after winter. I guess it worked out I’m getting the engine I wanted.

I've been into Mustangs for over 20 years now and I was very excited that a new version was coming out, but I didn't get my hopes up because I didn't like the concept car. Even after I drove 4 hours to Atlanta to see the preproduction car, I still wasn't planning on getting one right away. It wasn't a question of whether or not to get a Mustang, just what year and what color.

Then I test drove the first one to come to my local dealer. (I was the first to test drive it too) That's when I started calling dealers to see what kind of deal I could get!

I saw the blue drawing of what was to be the next Mustang, and immediatly started saving, not knowing if I would make, but I tried. I was 14 then.

I was searching the Net for a restored '67 Mustang when I came across the one in the attached photo. On the same day, I saw that the same Ford dealer already had a 2005 in the showroom, so I went there the next day. It was a Torch Red V6, and on that same day I placed my order for a GT. A month later, when he received his first GT in the showroom, he called me up and offered a test drive.
I'm still happy that I had the inspiration of ordering this car without ever having driven it!

I had been following it on the "net" since Ford began talking about the possibilty of a retro style. Once I saw the concepts I was hooked. I test drove a Black on Black GT 5-spd when the first ones hit the lots here at Griffin Ford in Waukesha WI., I was amazed they let me test drive it!

THe salesman called me on Thur. and said they would be there on friday and I could test drive one on Saturday..so my son (he's 13) and I went up there.

After the test drive it was all over...2 weeks later I found the exact car I was going to order at another dealer in town....it was on the car carrier in thier lot...I bought it off the truck!

It was filthy... 4 hours later I was driving it home that was last Nov..7th 2004 and I have loved everday since that one!

I knew the second I saw the concept that I would have one..........I fell absolutely in love with it.....

I spent most of the last year chasing carshows and car haulers looking for them.

I spent all of October calling dealerships and driving the new ones..

I drove to Atlanta for the Innovation drive and it sealed it

Then Brad told me some were coming my way- and Eleanor rolled off... She sat on the showroom floor waiting on me to come get her- And it was meant to be, financing for 3 people fell through and she was mine. She actually came off the truck sold- but their financing fell through also.

I got her for Christmas, I walked into the dealer to ask a question, instead my salesman said "you ready to take your mustang home?" He had completed the paperwork and financing and was waiting on me to come in so I could be sprung.

NOW I am totally in love with her- shes like one of my children.

saw the concept version, and loved it, followed the magazine spy shots, and ordered June 2004. Took delivery October 2004, did not see one in person until I picked her up.
