wheels snow tires question emergency.

I got rid of a second car and enjoying the daily driving of the Mustang. I have over 4000 miles in just over one month with a 100 mile commute (50 each way) to work and winter is coming. I have a set of standard 17" bullitts from my brothers 06 vert in California that he sent me. Does the CS/GT have the same suspension as the GT-Hertz?that is also lowered 1.5 from the stock GT and has 17 bullitts. Can I put them on my car?

And in case you're wondering, the GT's actually do excellent in winter with good snow tires. I drove mine all last winter in Alberta and I was very impressed.

Thanks, I am also going to add some weight, not sure how much. What confused me about it all was on tirerack they specifically ask if you have a CS/Gt as if it made a difference.

If you get a set 4 good modern snow tires (Graspics, X-ice, etc), and drive with a light foot on the gas, you should have no problems in the snow....

Exactly, I ran Graspics last year, they're a good tire for the price and don't wear much either. I couldn't stand running with the TCS on, it just slowed down acceleration and would bog you down when you needed power the most such as deep snow.

I was in a pretty bad snow storm that snuck up on us while we were driving from Richmond to DC last march (took 5 hours) and my stock 18" BFGoodrich g-force KDWS (dry, wet, snow) did surprisingly well. There was at lest one spun out car in the ditch every couple of miles. The state didn't even get salt down on the highway. That's pretty good for a 150mph+ rated tire on a sports car that has historically been said to be bad in the snow.

I hopr you are all right. I need to be able to go in the snow. The tires are installed on the wheels and I am going to put them on the car. I hanen't seen many CS go from 18's to 17's but I am hoping it will give it a GT-H sort of look.

What size Blizzaks (WS-50) should I put on my 17" stock rims? The stock 235/55 Pirelli's are on there now. I will not be using them again - I'm going to get 18" rims/tires over the winter.

Thats something I have been wondering about, what exactly is the best way to drive in snow? Im living in Raleigh now, and even though we probably wont get any blizzards, there is a good chance for snow. Other than putting weight over the rear wheels, how is the best way to drive in snow, because I'm not going to buy snow tires

I went with 235/55R17 Mastercraft Glacier Grip on my 17' bullits.for $159 each. When I went in I asked for Bridgestone Blizzaks and they said they were out of stock and over $300 each. I am actuallly looking forward to seeing the car with the 06 bullits on it.
