I am ready to buy an 05.....i have checked at least 20 dealears in my area, they all want like 4-6 K over sticker for a GT convertible, and like 2-3 K over sticker for a GT coupe.....they are ABSOLUTELY INSANE, i almost smashed one salesman's face!....

I live in NJ

So it looks like the ONLY way i can get away with paying sticker is if i wait and order a 06

I am ordering a 06 GT coupe, black, manual, red leather, interior upgrade, shaker 1000, 18 inch weels, anti-active theft

By the way, i test drove the 05 GT convertible today, triple black, manual, It is a REALLY nice, smooth, comfortable ride...BUT it is no where near as fast as my 04 Mach 1 was.....but that doesnt matter to me

only 2-3k over sticker for a gt coupe? they sold like hotcakes here in phoenix and they were between 3-7k over sticker.

Keep in mind guys, i am a LOYAL Ford buyer, i have purchased 6 new fords since 2000

Makes me want to go out and buy me a Corvette, i can for the price they want for a GT vert.....33K plus 6K.......about 40K.......come on guys, i have NEVER in my life heard of such POO

It was just a friendly warning. I was trying to help you out before the mods got involved. If you want to act like a jerk about it, that's your perogative.

 

Something tells me if this is the way you reacted at the dealership, there's no way you wouldn't get anything less than MSRP + markup.

Sorry, but plenty of people around here paid LESS than MSRP. Do your homework and you'll find a dealership you like somewhere.

Next time you're out shopping, tell the salesperson what you'd pay, act calmly and leave him your card.

He'll call you as soon as he needs that couple a hundred bucks to get him over some goal he needs to meet.

But if you "Freak Out" he won't want the hassle of dealing with you.

 

At the beginning I would have referred him to a dealer.
By the end it was just another, " I can't get what I want so stuff everybody" rant.

From what i've heard. I heard a rumor that the after the X-Plan went off the Markups would happen hard an quick..
An not to mention it is the Hottest car on the roads and everyone loves it, so they are gonna milk the nation for what they can get.

 

If you can buy six new cars since 2000 or be able to afford a vette then why are you worried about a few grand over sticker? Just curious. If I had the kind of money you do I wouldn't be crying over spilt milk.

So here's the standard response:

S-U-P-P-L-Y A-N-D D-E-M-A-N-D. Welcome to the U.S.A.

It's very simple actually. At most dealers, pay over MSRP to get one off the lot now, or pay MSRP (or less), order one, and wait a few months (or longer).

Sure, it stinks, but when nearly every other car/truck/SUV on the planet is selling for thousands under MSRP (many at or near cost), I find it funny that people get so upset when a "hot" car is marked up.

Car sales is not a non-negotiable business - a dealership is not Best Buy. Prices are negotiable, and 99% of the time these days the price is in our favor (below MSRP).

And no, I have no affiliation to any car dealership, I'm not in car sales, and I did not pay MSRP or above (A plan actually).

OK... end of my rant (or is that an anti-rant? I don't know).

 

I had one ordered for over 5 months that fell through. I saw one on another lot & stopped. They wanted $3000 over MSRP! I had been talking to IsellFord (from this web site) who I was planning on ordering one through. It looked like it might be another 2 month wait from him.
Anyway, I went back to the dealer that had one in stock I told him that Ford was going to double production on the Mustang GT & they should sell theirs quick to earn more of the "new" allocation. I ended up $500 off of MSRP thanks to the information IsellFord had given me!

 

You guys want to rip me up , go ahead......i dont care, i have the money, but its the principle

they can keep that mustang .....you guys are stinkERS!!!!!!

in 2-3 years when these cars depreciate all you guys who paid over sticker will really feel the effect of what they did to you,

Thats when i will buy a NEW mustang, when i get rebates and pay under MSRP, maybe i will go and buy a 04 ZO6
