1. ALL BLACK interior with IUP (NOT charcoal gray)
2. 18" set of "BULLITT" wheels at launch
3. a way to fit 315s under the rear
4. ducktail spoiler
5. all six taillights light up with brake/turn signal (not four . . . cheap-o's)

Excuse me but I have a question?

What LOSER needs A PARKING SENSOR on a MUSTANG? It's mildly acceptable considering most of America's driving public CAN NOT DRIVE, especially in there GARGANTUAN grocery hauling SUVS. BUT if you don't know how darn far it is from the CURB to your FENDER in a MUSTANG you deserve no car, let alone one like this.

Ban me. I don't care. Some things need to be said.

I'll back up the HID lights suggestion.

IRS
6 spd manual
Automatic climate control (as an above post stated)
Body colored mirrors
Lose the 1980's style antenna
Suble ducktail type of rear spoiler
True Blue as an exterior color
18" wheels at the launch date

I still am enamored with the car and will definitely be getting one, but in a perfect world, I'd like to see the above items.
How come you bought a GT and not a Cobra last time

My list:

IRS: Its 2005, not 1905
HIDs: To see and be seen
SMG: 1/4 second shifts to tear up the quarter mile
6-spd gearbox: If six works for beers, then why not gears.
Concept's Nose: Wins by a nose.
Recaro Seats: Recline in the best.

'Bout it for now!
so you have no problem with a 38k mustang? [/b][/quote]
Yeah, but given that Mazda's RX-8 offers this and more for around $28-30K, excepting the SMG and Recaros, though it does offer a more sophisticated, forged AL front suspension and CF drive shaft to even things out a bit, I gotta wonder why Ford couldn't offer a similar spec sheet for similar green. Maybe Mazda's just that much more efficient a manufacturer???

I have them now, the halogen brights are still brighter. I think they would muck up the look of the front end.

Given the next Cobra is going to be well over $40K, well, that's way too steep for my more modest means. But again, I'd love to see a spec/option sheet and pricing more akin to the RX-8 but in a V8 Stang, I can't imagine how the parts count and manufacturing cost would be much different between the two cars. In fact, excepting the more complex V8, though the rotaries do require some expensive machining, I would say the RX-8 is more complex and uses more expensive materials.

Then, from where would a huge prices differential arise that would drive a similarly spec'd Stang to $38K, aside from corporate greed and union labor rates that is?

Ive looked the 8 over, it uses thin metal and an uber-cheap interior. The rear seats are stupid, and it has no ***** whatsoever. Rotaries do not last long either, they are 70k mile motors. The 3 has a much better interior overall. Everyone I know who has had them rebuilds them. Its a big dissapointment in my book. I owned a 93 RX7-tt, a by-far superior car(and more expensive MSRP non-adjusted for inflation 11 years ago). That is just another utterly forgetable yuppie mobile, like the 350 or TT. the last 7 was a TRUE sports car.

When I leased my GT, the Cobra was 6 months from being released. Also, I wasn't interested in a S/C Mustang with 400 hp. I guess you can say I like a lot of the features that the Cobra offers (IRS & 6 spd), but with '05 GT and '03-'04 Mach 1 type of hp and torque.

I'm not saying offer most of the items I listed above standard on a roughly $26K base GT, but as options for a vehicle that would be priced in the low $30K price range. This is my price target. Maybe my "What's missing list" is a future special edition Mustang. Only time will tell, but for now I'll be getting what Ford is offering, and that's a not far from perfect '05 GT.

IRS.
Duratec V6
The rest I can live with, but I would have preferred less retro styling.

I'd like to see IRS, other than that it is perfect.

I had an '85 RX-7 GSL-SE with the 13B rotary when I was in college and it lasted to 168,000 miles. It was a great little car. No problems at all out of it until the end.

On SUV's they're great because its hard to place the truck's position(the F-150 can completely hide someone 4'2" or shorter behind the truck standing). Mabye on a large sedan, but back-up sensing on a stang

What's missing from the 2005 Mustang?

My rear end in the seat driving it. Put it this way....nothing that'll stop me from buying one.

I back up the HID suggestion. The Mazda 3 has a HID option with a tire-pressure monitoring system for $700. And it's an ECONOMY car!! If IT can have it, a Mustang could and should have it, too. You'd better believe I'd check that box when ordering a 2005 Mustang if it were available.
