I jsut passed my 2 local ford dealers to see if anyone had a tungsten to look at in person. To my shock one of my local dealers had 18 Mustangs!!!! wow i thought so i got out to look at them. 1 GT vert, New triple black 2005 for 33k no markup unsold. Not too shabby i said so i took a look at all the others as well. 17 USED V6 Mustangs of varying color. WHATSUPWITHTHAT??????? I couldnt believe that they were all used. PAssing my dealer whom i got my GT from he had one used V6 as well. I dont understand why? V6 or V8 these cars move and move fast. Why all the returns?

Probably because they all regretted getting the V6 and bought a V8.

Many people got the so-called "Galpinized" V6s....they look AWESOME with body kits, stripes, upgraded interiors, dual exhausts, fogs...wow they look SO good. Only problem, customers love the LOOK so much, they jump on it, not realizing they are paying $24-26,000.....and then they go

BTW: My V6 Coupe w/ IUP, ICAP has black clearcoat. I thought about it a LONG time before placing the order and decided I was going to do it. I plan on keeping my car till the wheels fall off.

This may be the most RATIONAL reason. Ford sells a lot of V6 Fleet Mustangs to Hertz, for example. Buying a V6 and trading it in 5-9 months later on a GT is very expensive and not very smart car-buying. A new car will depreciate heavily once its driven off the lot. Trading that V6 car in (probably sold at a deeper discount than a comperably equipped GT) then buying a GT (which will be sold a lot closer to, if not at, MSRP sticker) is a very expensive proposition.

Trading in a V6 and getting a GT after a few months, ESPECIALLY lease deals, will only charge you minimally for the early termination, and will only take up your GT monthly payment by a little bit. heck, other dealers even give you a DISCOUNT on the upgraded car you get. My friend traded in his 4 cylinder Altima for the V6 after having it for less than a year. He only paid a little penalty, and got an AWESOME deal on a V6 lease.

Correctamundo. There are quite a few rentals going thru now. Rental companies [Hertz] sell off cars when the price is up. Mustangs are still relatively in demand, even V-6 models so they dump them while their value is still reasonable.
Also some people do trade up. we have taken 3 V-6's in trade for GT's this year.

Yes, rentals are the most common reasoning for the amout of 6's on UC lots.
My store has purchased about a dozen V6 coupes from rental fleets and we turn them over quite easily!
Could it be I sense a little bit of the GT vs. V6 "I am better than you" mentality here. C'mon guys they are both excellent cars and the 6's are by no means slugs.

Lots of Rental returns. Van Boxtel Ford in green Bay recieved 7 use low mileage V6 convertibles, all ex rentals. Russ Darrow Ford in Waukesha did have a fully loaded White ICAP GT Coupe for 33,000. According to them it was a Ford Executive Program car.

I am trading my V6 on a GT. The dealership is giving me a very fair trade in my eyes. 19,000 and I only paid a little over 20,000 for the car brand new almost a year ago. Granted I did do some upgrades to it, but I think the trade in they offered is very fair.

hopefully their upgrading to a gt, i saw a torch red v6 vert with all gt bodykit.now it only had 1 exhaust wich looked so bad and im sure the cost of all that extra would come pretty clos to the cost of a gt
