Tri-ax
Hurst - Billet/Plus Shifter

It's all up to personal preference and what you want out of a shifter. Been debated MANY times, and everyone has their own opinion. Plenty of people are in love with the Hurst. Personally, I don't care for it and think it is a waste of money. You can accomplish the exact same thing with the $40 Saleen short throw adaptor. The Hurst shifter is not any beefier than the stock, and if you lay them down side by side they look nearly the same. BUT... if all you do is a little spirited street driving, and if you want the chrome handle, it is the perfect shifter for you.
Personally, I went with the Pro 5.0. Much firmer shifts than the Hurst, less cost than the Tri-Ax ( but basically a clone of it ).

Uh. I thinks your facts are a tad off. The HURST, though granted not as "beefy" as the Pro 5.0 or Tri-Ax, is heads above the stock. You do not have to shift with your whole arm, just your wrist. IF, and I say IF, your not a regular gear banger, and have budget constraints, but still want the looks, and the feel, then the HURST Comp/Pro is the shifter you want.
Now let's face it, the Tri-Ax and the Pro 5.0, are without a doubt the best out there for us. But you got to Pay to Play. Right NOW over on the Stillen Group Purchase thread, there are almost enough interested/committed to reach that magic number for a greatly reduced price for the Tri-Ax. As much as I like Steeda, and I love Steeda, us old timers will tell you the Pro 5.0 is time tested. and If that was a major factor in the total package I was looking for, for my ride, the Pro 5.0 would be the only choice. The Tri-Ax does offer adjustability if you really need to be that comfy banging shifts.
Oh and just one other note. HURST does NOT have a billet shifter as yet for our S197's. (It's been promised, they have a part number, but. well, we've all been there before............
Buy the HURST!!

So far I don't think anyone actually has the billet Hurst shifter. I had a Hurst and sold it for a Pro 5.0, $249 with free shipping and it was a great swap.

Yes, ALL the distributer's have it listed. BUT, HURST itself has a HOLD on them. They are backordered. If you Order one, you will NOT get it NOW.
One other note on the "regular" HURST Comp/Pro. It is a tad notchy, also 5th and Reverse, seem miles away. But then again, you really don't care when your "USING" it for it's purpose.
