From the video you posted, your FRPP/Borla stingers have the deep/aggressive throaty sound I'm looking for.. My question however is, do you ever notice any inside cabin drone ? After reading several reviews, there have been quite a few complaints from those who've experienced drone with Borla stingers between 1500-2200 RPM at cruising/highway speeds..

The answer to that is yes. But I like them. I would like to figure out how to get rid of the drone some day and still keep them. :dunno:

Most folks here on TMS and from other forums seem to have excellent results by having resonators welded into their mid pipes which from my understanding help or even eliminate drone altogether..

Perhaps that may be your best solution for getting rid of the drone with your FRPP stingers :dunno:

I just brought this one home last Tuesday. I guess you can say what makes this one unique is that at 89K miles with the exception of the exhaust it's completely stock.

my 09 is becoming kinda unique... its a zero option basic gt deluxe, not many folks bought base models, but the unique thing, its likely the last undriven base S197 GT in existence?
sure theres a lot of shelbys squirrelled away as investments, but plain-jane GTs? been washed twice, never even test driven, 5.something miles on it now, had 3.4 when flatbedded home, the near 2 miles is just from occasionally moving it.
a waste of a car, but dont miss it, drive its twin all summer, originally bought it as a backup to the 06- never as a 'investment' type of thing, as sure depreciation is still ongoing... oddly now, dont even want to drive it, just because of what a oddity it may have inadvertently became... maybe some day it will wind up in a museum or something- with my luck though, more likely the garage will fall on it or something :)

At 89k miles and mostly completely stock.. I would have to agree that your 06 GT is not only unique, but also very rare as well.. Just by looking at the pic, the car appears to be in very excellent condition in which the previous owner obviously took very good care of her..

In the meantime, very nice find and congrats :nice:

Yes,Nice car:nice:

But by that standard, I have 2 Unique and Rare cars.
The 2007 is stock except for the lights and has under 45k mi.
The 2006 is not stock, but about 3 hours would it back to stock with 15k mi.
I have all the original parts for both cars including the 06 tires & rims.
(plus most of the parts from my other 2)

By the way, I love my Pypes Violators on the 2006.

By that standard, you most certainly fall into the S197 unique category ;)

Although my 2006 is mostly modified, like yourself, I also have all the original OEM parts, except for the original 17" wheels & tires, but can always locate replacements thru take off parts if necessary..

So perhaps at just 21,708K my 06 GT might also fall into the unique category as well :dunno:

Well, I guess my car is and has been uniquely UNIQUE since I bought it at 67,000 mi. in 2012.
My car has an Un-pressurized cooling system. I only run a 60-65% antifreeze to 35-40% water by VOLUME mixture in all 5 of my vehicles, and in my backhoe.
If I lived in the desert or high mountains I would probably tighten the pressure cap, but being in Ohio I never have a problem.
NO blown hoses, water pumps, radiator seams, degas bottles, etc. Been running NO pressure for 30 yrs. or better now.
NOT recommending it to everyone,as a lot of folks neglect their cooling systems and might add water(allowing for boiling in the system) instead of a pre-mixed 60-40 ratio.
For you folks in Alaska and Minnesota and other severely cold climates, this mixture surpasses the -34 F of a 50/50 mix to the tune of more than -60 F.

don-ohio 1/12/17 05:56 PM

I should add to the above post that I don't loosen radiator caps, I just remove the gasket from the disc that seats in the opening and tighten the cap. I ,of course, leave the lid sealing gasket of the cap in place so it will siphon back as engine cools.
On Degas bottles and pressurized expansion tanks I DO loosen their caps so pressure doesn't build and suction pressure doesn't develop. don-ohio (:^)

Good not to recommend it for everyone.
I'll bet my cars put out more HP on the dyno than yours because of slightly better combustion at the engineered temps with the original pressurized system.:poke:
Not my choice, but it if it works for you,OK
Been running pressurized systems in 30 yr old cars with no problems.;)
(except for the one 17yr old radiator that developed a tiny leak)

I have 2, 13 yr.old Lincoln LSes and they are known for BAD plastic parts in the cooling system(VERY EXPENSIVE),so I've solved THAT problem with my Un-pressurized solution.
My car doesn't run any cooler than yours,so why would it dyno differently? :dunno:
The thermostat controls the temp. Of course if you blow a hose you will run hotter than me....LOL! JUST kidding!:poke:
You have been HIGHLY favored if you've run hundreds of thousands of miles and only had a slight leak.:nice:
Most people have seen water pumps leak, hoses blow, heater cores leak, radiators leak, etc.
I don't recommend race cars without pressure systems, only vehicles with 60-65% antifreeze and people who'll keep them that way. I keep them that way. don-ohio :)

I'm not sure how unique, but I've always loved the Foose hood with the shaker scoop on mine.

Thanks, I got in an accident and cracked the hood up bad. I went to get a replacement (factory) and found the Foose hood was cheaper even though it used the factory underside. I even found one that had a pre-made hole so I do not need a trim ring.

And yes, Go Steelers!!

m05fastbackGT 1/20/17 03:13 PM

You claim that you have a special disdain in your soul for all things PA, but yet your brother was born in Scranton, PA and you also claim to like Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.. Therefore if what you posted is accurate ? You just contradicted yourself not just once, but twice

Doesn't matter if Crosby is Canadian.. He plays for an american team in SH*TTSBURGH as you say..

And just because you don't happen to like your Bro for whatever reason, doesn't give you the right for taking out your anger towards everybody else just because they happen to live in the same province or state that your brother was born in as your excuse. You make it appear as though the reason you have such a disdain in your soul for all things PA, is because of your Bro being born there.. Therefore I suppose as far as your concerned, it's everybody else's fault that your brother was born in PA right ?

If that's your reason, you obviously appear to have some very serious issues to say the very least, starting with anger management.. It would also appear that you have quite a lot of bitterness inside your heart as well which unfortunately is also very sad indeed..

That being said, I could totally understand your reason for not liking a particular football or hockey team because of the players or fans, but when it's over something like a family member being born in the city or state where the team is from, is no excuse for holding an entire city or community responsible over something that had absolutely nothing to do with you nor with any of your family members whatsoever !

...seriously, don't get me started...

WELL FYI.. I HAPPEN TO LIVE IN PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA AND HAVE FOR OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS.. AS FOR BEING A STINKING COAL HOLE AS YOU REFER IT TO, YOU HAVE NO ****ING CLUE AS TO WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.. AS PITTSBURGH IS CONSIDERED AS ONE THE LARGEST HIGH-TECH CITIES IN THE U.S AND ALSO HAS THE LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE TO SHOW FOR IT.. THAT BEING SAID, WHEN YOU INSULT THE STATE I LIVE IN, YOU ALSO INSULT ME AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAPPEN TO BE SOME OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS..

THEREFORE YOU ARE DONE, AND CAN CONSIDER YOURSELF AS BLOCKED AS OF RIGHT NOW, AS YOU DISRESPECTED THE WRONG PERSON FOR THE LAST TIME!!!!

I've never been to Pittsburgh. I'm a cowboys fan since mid 70s when I was little kid. I hated the steelers of course until we finally made up for those two super bowl losses against Neil O'Donnell in XXX.

I remember seeing the movie Striking Distance of all things and seeing the rivers and the hillsides and it looks like a beautiful place. I'd love to visit eventually someday.

Now Philadelphia...that looks like a ****hole. :jester:

I can certainly understand and respect your reasons for the Cowboys being your favorite team, as you've followed the team and have been a fan ever since you were a kid..

I actually grew up as a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan, as I was born and raised in the Buffalo NY region and although I re-located to Pittsburgh over 30 years ago, I've always remained a loyal Bills fan and still consider the Bills as my favorite team even to this day..

I will admit however that since re-locating to Pittsburgh, I also became interested in the Steelers and really began to respect them for their dedication to the community, their strong blue collar work ethic/values and most of all for how well their coached as a team and how well the players each hold themselves accountable when it comes to taking their responsibilities seriously and making no excuses for it..

So I suppose you can take this as meaning that although I still consider the Bills as my overall favorite team, I've also ended up becoming an admirer of the Steelers during the past 30 years as well..

As yes, Pittsburgh is indeed a very beautiful place compared to over 30 years ago prior to the collapse of the steel industry.. Since then, Pittsburgh has transformed itself into one of the most cleanest and livable cities on the east coast.. Therefore don't ever allow some troll on this forum who claims that Pittsburgh looks like some coal hole have an influence towards your opinion as her claims are so fabricated and so inaccurate in which I don't believe for a single moment that she's ever visited Pittsburgh in her entire pathetic life as she supposedly claims according to her last reply to my previous post..

In the meantime, should you decide to come visit Pittsburgh someday, I'd be more than glad to show you around and introduce you to some of the most beautiful places and also some of the most outgoing and awesome people as well..

Pittsburgh also has car cruise events in the area practically every day during the season in which I always look forward to every year for obvious reasons lol.

My V6 Pony is 1 of 3 that were made in 2007 with my option list.

Received my personalized statistics report from Marti Auto Works today.

It was the Interior Sport Appearance Package that really got the numbers down.

Photos are on page 1 of this thread.

Thank you. 858 miles and she celebrated her 10th birthday on January 26.

I drove my first 2 Ponies really hard, this one was to get a looker that would withstand the test of time. I'll probably drive her a lot more when I reach retirement in a few more years.
