It's all good. The pink may get removed for a red, white, & blue theme. That'd match my captain America horn button - also unique :)

Custom wheel caps (made by yours truly)
0) Started out with some SR wheel caps from American Muscle, and removed the existing "SR" inner disk. These were $7 each. I also scuffed up the original chrome finish. 1) Found some 2-inch metal three-dimensional stars. they came "rusted", but I hand-sanded off the original finish down to bare metal. I got four sets of three stars for about $6. 2) I found a guy in Rhode Island that cut some plastic disks to be used as inserts in the caps, and he also cut out star shape in the center. The disks came with an adhesive backing. 3) When I got the disks in the mail, I stuck the disks to the caps and put on four or five coats of Duplicolor gloss black. 4) I then used super glue to attach a star to the disk inside the star cutout. 5) I painted four of the remaining stars Duplicolor Performance White. 6) I used super glue to attach the white stars to the previously attached cap stars. 7) I put on four coats of Duplicolor clear top coat. Total cost was less than $100, and I have something that nobody else has on a Mustang: http://paddedwall.org/images/cars/wheel_cap_07.jpg http://paddedwall.org/images/cars/wheel_cap_09.jpg http://paddedwall.org/images/cars/wheel_cap_10.jpg http://paddedwall.org/images/cars/2012mustang_10e.jpg http://paddedwall.org/images/cars/2012mustang_10a.jpg |
