Nope, they were sincere enough to not void my warranty over a lifter tapping from Mobil 1 when I told them. And no I am not a dummy. thank you.

They can't void your warranty for Mobile 1 if you put in the right weight. Maybe a non-motorcraft filter though.

It's funny. It actually says on the front of the Mobil 1 bottle. Will not void Ford warranties. You should take in a bottle. I guess it's really not too big of a deal though. I don't see how they could even come close to managing to claim that the Motorcraft is better.

First of all, there's no 5W-20 here, so...: Shell Helix Plus 5W-30 with the OEM Motorcraft filter. Dealer installed, warranty still valid, changed every 5000 miles, never had any kind of problems with it after 30k+ miles.

Mobil 1. I take it in to my dealer for Oil Changes. Have done it on every Ford I've owned. It exceeds manufacturer's specifications. There is no way that Ford could or would void a warranty over its use.

I always go with what the manufacturer recommends...Motorcraft 5w-20 (semi-synthetic) and the Motorcraft Oil filter! (however, I use a 3K mile change interval instead of the recommended 5K...oil is cheap, motors are not).

those guys know what they are talking about when they say 5k with their oil. I am sure it is still more than safe at 5k other wise they would not say so. The oil is barely broke in at 3k. Save your cash

I agree with Glenn. The only way you are going to need an oil change at 3K miles is if you fall into the very severe service category (which not many people do). If you drive 1 mile to work each way and don't take many long trips, by the time you rack up 3K miles it is time. If your daily commute is more than 10 miles each way, 5K should be fine.

Motorcraft 5W20 and Filter from FORD. It's a small price to pay to be able to do it myself compared to the $300 oil change I used to pay with my last car.

My friends with hand build Italian sports cars don't pay that much.

It was the 2002 BMW 330i. Whe I would bring it in for the required at dealer oil change they also required an additional air cabin filter for $100 or the cert pre owned warranty would be void, so really the oil change was not the whole $300 but they required the cabin air making the total $300.
I have done 2 changes on my 07 am at 12K and it's been $80 total.
