Well my friend who I drive home alot was pressing buttons on my CD player. Not hard or anything and not a bunch at one time. All of the sudden the lower half of a two appears on the right side of the track number. I was like wtf, it looked like a little "c." My S1000 Skips every now and then and has scratched some CD's so it's overdue. ANyone else have a similar problem?

It's not an issue, rather a sound option: the "Compress" option was simply switched on. Press "Menu" until the display reads "COMPRESS ON" and click right or left (next to "SEEK") to deselect it.
See page 23 of the Owners Manual.
