Just be gracious and enjoy the compliment. If you can sincerely mean it, make a positive comment about that person's car in return.

Too much negativity in the world these days to make a snide remark, in my opinion.

Same here or something very close to that, but I may start trying the "Do you have a Hot Daughter?" remark. . But then they would just think I am a perverted old man. Ahh maybe they are right what the hell

Typically thanks. I got a lot of that on my road trip this past weekend to the Edmonton International Mustang Show. Even as I motered through traffic people were leaning out of their cars and complimenting me.

Seriously?
No, its not a dang cobra. 99% of the time, unless they are a total tool then I have a little fun with em.

For the normal public:
Thank you I love her.

For the truckers around here:
Not a chance in hell but thanks for asking.....

I must be in a too high class part of my town.. "hey nice car, but you should have gotten a cobra!"

to which i reply... but i wanted the GT. But when it is a truely appreciative compliment. i just say thank you.

I usualy try to get away with a thanks but it sometimes isnt that easy. People wana talk about it all the time, and sometimes its cool with me, sometimes I dont really want to talk to the person that much. I have been sitting in the car, running with the windows (5%tint) rolled up and people come and knock on my window all wanting to talk and stuff. Sometimes its funny the reaction I get with the car but I love it.

Funny thing is I tried to tell the wife when I first got the car how many cpmpliments I get and she didnt believe me. That is untill we were in the car driving along when a truck pulls on side of us staring. I say, see he is checking it out right now. She says yeah right...he could be checking me out ya know...I snicker and agree knowing full well what he was looking at. Next light his window comes down and he tells her...thats one FINE car. I bust out laughing...she believes me now!

Now if a hottie tells me she loves it (happens...oftin) I usualy give her some throttle...the o/r H really brings a smile to there faces. If there lucky ill lay a little rubber for em when I take off lol.

No offence to the ladies here but this car, slightly modded, is in major control of the meooooww...wish i had it back in college!!

Is that how you respond when someone says "nice car"? To me, and please don't take this the wrong way, but when you say "I know", it would sound snobbish to me.

I just say thanks and answer the occasional question about displacement, year, etc... One guy even asked if they are light in the rear like the old ones.

Try this..works nice

leave enough room for space to move up (say 1 - 1.5 car length)
Someone starts talking to you... look over...stare...don't say anything, but slip the clutch and move forward slowly....staring the whole time till they are outta site in your blind spot.

hahahaha
