What car were you driving before the 05...
I had an 89 F-250 that I sold in September, i still have my 86 Mercury Capri 5.0, i missed the truck in the winter but i definatly do not miss filling up the gas tanks in the truck, used the money from the truck as money down on the 05, and am loving every minute of the 05.
I have a 97 T-Bird. I tried to trade it in, but the saleman want to give me $800 for it. So I kept it. It has now become my daily beater. I am glad I kept it.
It is also much better (smoother) for long trips than the Pony is.

I was driving a 97 sunfire, which I sold myself while waiting for my 05 to arrive. Great little car, excellent gas mileage, but not my type of car. I was in dire need of a dependable car and had no credit at the time...so I bought it used. Lasted me about 5 years and still ran great.
1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
Really liked the car but could wait to get rid of it. Nothing but one thing after another with that thing. Really took a hit on the trade also but I was in awe when I found what I was about to order on the lot.

This was an interesting thread ... I was excited to see a 1/2 dz. Chevys right off the bat so I thought I'd do a tally ...

If you add up the non-Fords, we got a nice ratio of converts which is really good to see.
Besides one beater Pontiac Bonneville in the early 80's, I've always owned Fords ... an '05+ Mustang will be in my stable in a year or two after I rack up a few more miles on my '04 !!

/edit: I dont' want this to become a debate, I'm just stating my opinion.
1989 black vert GT. Sold it 2 weeks ago.
Had the car for 6 years. The only thing keeping me sane now is I have an 05 redfire GT vert with everything on order as of 02-28-05. Spoke to my dealer today. I told him what you guys are all saying. They still think I should have my car by the end of july. If not, He said the order will roll over to the 06. Just wonder what that will do to the price? So for now driving an 89 F250 with a 460 under the hood. Sure hope the price of oil goes down soon

My previous baby
Got her for graduation brand new in July of 2000. 2000 Cougar Special Edition, only 500 SEs were produced in 2000. You might notice the yellow cougar head logos on the headrests, and the wheels with the yellow cougar head in the centercap, and the special edition spoiler. She was in the center of the showroom
She was sold last year for $10,000

This is my 7th Mustang. The prior one was a '97 Cobra Vert Black w/Camel top/interior. That car turned lots of heads (including officers often) and hated to see it go. Car ran well and was great fun in the sun. I miss it on sunny days, but the '05 is much nicer in every other way.
The only non-Ford I've owned was a BMW. You can't beat them for tightly screwed together vehicle, comfort, handling ability etc. Also, their service cannot be rivaled as far as the way they treat you. Problem is out of warranty repair is a kings ransom.

1996 Grand Am that gave me nothing but trouble. Carfax'ed it when I sold it and found it had started life as a rental! GAH! Never buy used again.

As for me, I have a 93 Ford Ranger with 190,000 miles on it. It has never failed to start and the only engine work that has been ever done (other than routine mait... was a new clutch at 150,000 miles)
