Werid Poping noise from floor pan

Back a couple weeks ago I noticed when I got out of my Mustang and had my weight on my right foot directly under the brake pedel, I'd have a popping noise coming the sheetmetal under the rug. Sort of the noise that a snapple pop-off top makes if you push down on it after opening it. Anyone else run across this? I haven't gotten a chance to take a look under the car yet to see if there is any damage in that area, but it sure is strange

Oddly enough that happened to me just two weeks ago for the first time. I went to get back into my car after putting gas and i heard that pop i just assumed it was nothing to worry about.

Got it too, it's the sheetmetal flexing and popping back. Not for sure if it is weak there or what but I never mentioned to anyone till now.

I have it as well. It is one of those problems I have forgotten to mention. I will try to remember next time I bring it in.

I get it all the time when I push hard on the floor and twist my body getting out of the car in a tight spot. Just sheet metal giving a bit.

i've heard of weight savings.. but a floorboard under my feet is not hwere i want to shave the weight off.

Same thing here... thought that it was me, guess not.

(then again, perhaps we are all storing some winter wear)

i had that with my 06.. took it to the dealer.. they removed the carpet and hammered the floor pan down a bit
it still looks the same, but the popping is gone ever since

it's not for the faint of heart.. given another chance, i wouldn't watch them fix it again
