Went to the track
Well I went to the track today I only ran about 4 times and decided that was enogh for now. My best 1/4 mile time was 14.67 not too good but not to bad My only mod is Flowmasters nothing else. I had trouble launching lots of tire spin out the hole. Also had trouble getting into 3rd once or twice. I know if I was able to get my launch down a little better, I could get low 14's or even high 13's on a stock car.

There are lots of guys on here who have made 100s of passes. I don't drag much, but here's my $.02:
1.) On factory tires don't go through the water.
2.) Drop your rear tire pressure to 32lb or less.
3.) Do a slight burnout, but don't melt them down.
4.) I launch fairly conservative and drag the clutch just a hair.
5.) Hold third gear if you can before crossing the line.
I have done some low 13s in my car and it only has an intake, tune, underdrive pulleys and a Hurst. I felt with better tires I could push high 12s, but that's me hoping.

I did leave the tire pressure alone, maybe next time I will adjust.
I attempted a slight burnout
My launches were way off, I tried to launch around 2500 but most were around 3500 or 4000
I did hold third gear all the way to the line, since my rpm's were around 5k or so as the finish line approached.
Low 13's is great for what you are running in my opinion. I saw S197's with super chargers running high to mid 13's..

Man, that 60' hurts to look at. Completely stock, my car (auto) did a best of 13.83 with a 2.09 60'. There were several times when I spun really bad and had 60' times between 2.3 and 2.5 with ET numbers resembling my 99 V6. Suspension and tires are your friend. I can't wait to test out my new DRs (Mickey Thompson ET Streets 26x11.5x17). I'm hoping for 12.7s or better. If I get gears before I can make it to the track again, then the tires will really come in handy.

Well I hope you at least had fun? Not bad really not hooking up will frustrate ya and make the day bad. Like was said earlier those 60's are painful. Try launching lower at 1800 to 2200 in incriments until you can get some stick.

Having fun is all that matters man. Once you get a few (dozen) runs under your belt, you'll see that time drop. Launching on stock rubber is almost an art...one not many people have the patients for haha. The best I could muster was a 1.90 60' and I'm now turning to DRs.

Those times aren't bad Brian! A little practice and you can go faster for sure. Don't let anyone tell you different. My best 1/4 mile was 13.55 at 103 mph with only a drop in K&N filter on stock tires. I know you can do it! Good suggestions above use them and practice, practice, practice. In no time you'll be smokin!

MPH drop off could be due to the missed gear mentioned or lifting before the actual end of the track. I always make sure not to lift until I am well thru the end. However you will hit the rev limiter if going thru the trap in third gear with the stock 355's if you keep it buried too long after the end beam.
