Long time lurker, first time poster.

Well I've been lurking for a while and I've pretty much read every post on the 2005 forum. 99 percent of the posts I've read are nothing but positive comments about the 2005 GT. This makes me sad. Why? Well because I now have a quandry, get rid of my beloved 2000 GT and "swap up" or leave good enough alone. Problem is I've test driven the 2005 and it's the equivelant of automotive crack .

It wasn't the fastest car I have ever driven, it wasn't the most stylish, it wasn't the most exotic and it wasn't the best handling. However, it was probably the best combination of all of the above that I have seen. I love the handling and especially the retro styling cues. It makes my current GT look like a Bolex watch next to a Rolex.

Thus the quandry, I really dont want to give up this old girl. I have spent many a weekend waxing and washing. Cutting her hood and installing her CDC shaker with care. Yet I can't stay away from the 2005 mustang. My only reservation is the fact that ford generally has really bad model years. I have been the victim of two demonically possesed model year vehicles(95 Explorer and 04 F150). I'm just not sure its possible to wait for 2006. The only thing thats keeping me from taking another model year plunge is the lack of the titanium color and my little 2000 GT with only 34,000 KM(21,000 Miles).

It's no news to you that your current pony is a thing of beauty.

I can respect your concern about a new model year. Why not give it more time? Let things play out a little more. Besides, as an obvious appreciater of verts, you'd need to wait a little longer anyway.

Let things shake out a little more. You have the option of waiting; still plenty of new '05's to be built yet.

And welcome. It's great to have you here!

Perhaps I'll wait until 2006 and see if CDC or one of the other companies puts out some nice mods like the shaker on my current car. I really love that shaker, silly I know but I love how it jiggles at idle and leans over with the engine on hard accelaration. Maybe by 2006 I'll decide this ones getting garaged and I'll save it for my kids(if I ever have any)or at give it to my god daugther in 10 years when she can drive.

darn I really want that Titanium.

Man what you could do with 26K in that ride you now have!! One super bad hiney motor and drive train and 14 K gold paint all over. Redo the whole inside.
lower PP tax. I would rather have yours. Come park it at my house and leave the keys.

I'd love to talk you into an '05 but I don't know what to say. You have a beautiful car now. The '05 is a real "driver" though, as you know. You have so few miles on your car though it would be difficult for me to justify buying a new one, maybe except for the WOW factor which won't be around too much longer.
