My neighbour has a 1987 Chevette, automatic :notnice: that they want to get rid of. The body is in great shape, just needs the engine tweeked. They told me I could take it for free, so I think that is going to be my new daily driver. :bang:
Stop it, I can hear you laughing. I don't like puting 50 kms a day on my 05 (I'm already over 10k on it) plus worrying about door dings etc., so I think this will be a great thing. I could park the Mustang in a nice warm, dry garage for the winter and drive the crap out of a beater.
I will miss the 05 on the daily commute the odd time, but traffice stinks during rush hour and the Stang never gets to stretch it's legs anyway.
I have another autocross event on this Sunday, so the Stang will run free for a little bit. Man, those are fun to take part in!
Okay.......MY FLAME SUIT IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't blame ya one bit! I have a little 4 cylinder truck that I SHOULD be driving everyday. Thing is, I have a hard time prying myself away from the stang.
I'm getting better, I actually did drive my truck once this week. Baby steps

I don't blame you. I'm in the same situation. I got me a nice little 6 cyl Ranger to use as my beater/daily driver. I'm trying to keep the Stang as a nice weather car only. So far the only time it has been wet is when I wash it. I don't know if my windsheild wipers even work. Haven't tried them and don't plan to.
OMG! LMAO! My first new car was a 1984 Chevette. I bought it in November 1984. Same year I graduated high school. No radio or cassette until I got my tax refund. Never did get a/c installed. One of the funny things was there was no door for the glove box. Don't ask why, I have no idea. Cost-saving by Chevy?
Dark blue metallic. I could go anywhere on 10.00 a week in gas. I drove it for 3 1/2 yrs and it had 48,000 miles on it when I traded it in.

Gas went up yesterday here to $104.9 a liter!!! So I forgot to add the gas savings is also a great thing. But....one bad thing (there are a few) is a Chevette is almost like a scooter, and you know what they say about scooters and fat chicks!!
I have a 95 Civic that I paid $2200 for, while I was waiting for the Mustang (and after I sold my Acura). I love having that thing, I work downtown, so I'm glad I don't have to have the Mustang subjected to that. Or going to the grocery store and parking 1.2 miles from the store. Not to mention I get 39 mpg average on every tank of gas. I say go for it!
