Hi guys, I got my car on Wednesday and have noticed a weird whoosh noise. It seems to happen at random times too. It almost sounds like air rushing through something very quick. Any ideas?

IF you're hearing a clicking noise it's the A/C clutch

It's pretty loud though.....is that normal? I do have the AC on when I hear it and I'm driving slow enough that there is no road noise.

Yep that definitely sounds like the A/C. If by "normal" you mean is it normal for most cars, the answer would be no.

But if by "normal" you mean is it normal for the 05 Mustang, unfortunately the answer is yes.

But hey, at least the A/C works quickly right?

I just turn the radio up, or downshift

Yep they are right in their answers: I had the same doubt and when I brought my GT in for oil change I mentioned it and voila'! The AC clutch...

I hear the same thing at idle. Almost sounds like the airbrakes on an 18 wheeler. Wondered what that was.
