Here it is, looks encouraging for those that held out for the 18G. Small numbers but they are scheduling them.

2005 Mustang
Interior Upgrade Pkg. 18%

Total GT 41%

Convertible 26%

4.6L 3V/Manual 36%

There are no controls on the Interior Sport Appearance Package. We strongly encourage all dealers to order their GT allocation with the Interior Sport Appearance Package (18R).

Looks encouraging, I guess IUP production will slowly begin to trickle in again.

By the way, thank you very much for the updates both good and bad.

That's good, maybe this will squash some of the many rumors running around.

This can't be possible! After all, we've all read posts from people that said their dealer told them IUP was gone for good!

Those dealers must have been misinformed (to quote Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca)

Great news. Unfortunatly, I am probally toward the back of the queue as I only ordered 2 weeks ago. Think a mid - late april delivery is realistic?

Awesome news! Thanks Paul. Now if I can only get a VIN... I know, I'm a greedy girl.

Thanks Paul for always keeping us in the loop!! That is good news. Now I really have to get off my butt and make an honest effort to sell my '35.

Thanks, Karpro! Do you happen to know if vert production will slow down that of GT coupes, or will they cut back on V6 coupes since there are so many sitting on dealers lots?

I wonder what is the total backordered quantity of cars with IUP and how long it will take to work that backlog off.

I spoke to my dealer yesterday, the Ford rep was in last Friday again. And they confirmed that 18G options are going to be restricted to 35% of the total production. So it looks like regardless of how many orders Ford has received they are only going to put through 35% of the orders with the 18G package. I guess if you keep waiting maybe you can be in the 35% for 06 as well. Hence if 80% of all orders in right now are with 18G and each month thereafter 80% still are 18G then it will take at least three months for the first group on hold to be cleared and then another three months for the next group etc. So lets say at this time there are still orders from Sept in the build que for 18G (80%) but only 35% ratio are going to be built during the current months scheduling. So right now then 35% of them are going to be built in Jan. then another 35% of them to be built in Feb and the remaining 10% to be built in March along with 25% of the orders from Oct will be built in March then 35% of Oct in April 35% of Oct in May then the remaining 5% in June along with 30% of Novembers In July 35% of Nov orders will be built and in August the remaining 35% of Nov will be built. So in September then 35% of Decembers 04 orders will be built, 35% in Oct and the remaining 30% will be built in November. This will make the wait almost 12 months for orders placed in December. They will take delivery in December 05.

Now of course this is not taking into account Priority numbers from the dealer entries so I am sure that just because you ordered in December does not mean that it will be until December 05 for you to take delivery. But I am sure it will help if your dealer has or had available allocation when they placed your order and the priority number it was given.

No wonder Ford has encouraged the dealers to switch orders to 18R, so that they will get cars on the lot and they might actually sells some 05's instead of selling boat loads of 06's.

Just my thoughts on the whole thing.

And yes I am still waiting to get a complete VIN and ETA from the Factory. Although I am thinking of ditching the IUP, this 35% restriction may make waiting it out to get the IUP worthwhile to preserve the resell value of my future car.
