Well, dont know if Im still one of the record holders here for who's been waiting the longest but im at a crossroads here....

What would you do... Ive been waiting since 10/28/04 the day I ordered a 05 Sonic Blue Gt, IUP, Leather, Shaker 500, etc... (put $1000) down, paying MSRP-$100

Dealer says still no word... talked to salesman and brought up the DORA, he didnt know what I was taling about and said they just go by the number their dealer assigns the order... didnt get into it much after that.. just told him this was starting to **** me off and hung up.

Should I keep waiting ?? or go eleswhere... probably putting myself at an even longer wait... I just dont get how som e people are ordering in Dec and getting their cars already.. I didnt order anything special for it.... Just dont get it anymore and am getting really disheartened by this whole thing...

What do ya think?

What you need to do is a little research on these forums. You will gain valuable insight and tools that will give you an upper hand when dealing with your Dealer. Do a search under "order times" or "dora" and start digging. You deserve an explanation and should expect one.

I ordered in early Nov and took delivery on 12/30. Good luck.

The flag went up as soon as the salesman said he didn't know what a DORA was. Ask the salesmanager if he knows what a DORA is. They have your $1000, you have a right to know that they did in fact order it.

It depends on what you ordered.
How many allocations does your dealer have?
Was your car supposed to get one of those allocations?
How many Mustangs are ahead of you at your dealer?
I'm not too far off from you...
I ordered 11/8 and still haven't been scheduled.

Yeah something is not right there. The DORA gets to the dealer a matter of days after the order is placed. That will give you a starting point to work on. If they can't produce that ( It's no secret) you have a problem. Good luck

They are holding/making a little interest off your $1000.00 deposit. You have all the right to know what is going on with your order, I would demand it. If they give you the run around, get your deposit and go elsewhere. I really feel for you and I mean that. I know how it is to wait for this car, well I waited seven weeks and that felt like forever for me. I ordered 10/26 and took delivery Dec 16.
Good luck to you and go get the answers that you deserve, so that you can make a decision on what to do from here.

well one thing is for sure you are not alone here... I ordered in Oct as well the 25th to be exact and I too have nothing no Dora no build date or anything as of yesterday i went in there and started to get prettyhot about things. At one point I heard my dealer slip up and say we see when you placed your order in Nov i was like NO...OCT ...a month earlier and he looked at his paper work and said OH YEAH.....today i brought copies i printed off of this website (THANK YOU fellow stang fans) and went in there to show them everything going on to which they say they know NOTHING of you always get the same answer well its a hot car well its in high demand...i tell them i understand that but i also know that it seems like i should have something..DORA etc. well their reply is that my car will be here in February and thats what they stick with i then ask them how can you gurantee my car when i have been on MATERIAL STOP now for ever it seems i even told them i would take OFF the IUP and remove the side air bags i really dont care anymore i just want my car. they reply "hmm i wonder if that would speed it up" HELLO ..well today my wife went in there while i was working and she DEMANDED to see the DORA ...they just insist on not showing us and they tell us we will get a DORA when my car gets a build date, the Sales Manager today did say (if hes not telling a lie) that TODAY my car came off of MATERIAL STOP...so i dunno..i too am tired and i am also afraid to cancel my order and go elsewhere just to go to the back of the line again...again sorry for the rant

WOW! That is just beyond belief. "Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment" It just confirms that an order was received by Ford. What could be so secretive about that? Karpro, I think we need some help here . . . .

I ordered on 9-17-04 and picked mine up on 1-7-5 almost 4 months 112 days.(78 days)Your not even close to a record on wait time . I think Sixtysix has that. At least for the folks that ordered after production started.

But you should be able to get a dora the day after you put in your order.
Don't let them play dumb on you. If they know that you know what you are talking about then they will start to come around. If not I would go down the road to a dealer that will not bs you.

Now with the holds on IUP and so on you may be waiting for some time. Like StangNut said it all depends on a number of factors.

You are definitely not alone. I ordered 10-12-04 and still waiting. I do atleast have my DORA. Got it a couple days later. Allocation and IUP issues slowed everything down. If they won't give or show you the DORA then you might wanna check somewhere else.
