Unhappy Waiting sucks

OK Waiting sucks.

I have been to the local dealer 7 times with my 3 year old, looking at there inventory, why I don’t know. Driving my wife nuts, with updates, “guess what the ERL said today” or “I just got this update”. Already have my wish list going, umpiring 3-4 nights a week to build my cash flow for parts. Explaining why we need a chrome ring for the cup holders, racing stripes, 40 extra horses, or louder exhaust. I don’t think she is buying the fact that you just need a flow master exhausted, why; I don’t know, but all the other cool kids have one, and it sounds awesome.

Are there any support groups for this?

Like I said “waiting Sucks”

Jeff

Jeff, you are in good company. This is the support group for such woes. We've been there, done that. Just keep reading up on what other guys are doing here, and you'll have a complete list of all the things you want to do in June when your car arrives. Then post us some pictures.

I called the ERL so often that I think my wife suspected I was having an affair with her!

Hey Jeff ,
It took 8 weeks from when I ordered my 07 coupe till it arrived down under then i had to give it up to the converters for another 3 weeks to change it to right hand drive.Only 16 days to go now.

So believe me when I say I understand, All I can say Is hang in there and count down the days not the months.

Oh and practice stretching your mouth to accomidate that big grin your going to have when you get your mustang.

Good luck and Cheers. John Pony

Yeah , waitng sucks, I remember those days.WAITING is how "ponies on the run forum started. A whole bunch of us were waiting at the same time , teasing each other on the progress of our cars . some got them quicker than others. some got delayed, some lost tyrack or ford lost track, some Tracked the train it was being delivered on, I drove by my dealer every day,. I followed car carrier trucks . I was going nuts.
BUT REMEMBER 1 THING. Cherish the waiting and anticipation. It's exciting to know when ya wake up everyday your new car is on its way. I'm not saying the thrill was gone when I finally recieved it . It's just after awhile the excitement isn't as intense when I was waiting and the day of delivery. Take picks of the pick up day and frame it.!!!

I waited 8 weeks for mine......worth the wait. Be patient.
I think the dealer got sick of looking at me there looking at the cars!
And... I had the ERL on speed-dial..how is that for sick?

when I was waiting, seemed pretty safe bet that car got built within a month of vin...all the ones I followed on Kzinti's thread seemed about 7~10 days after hitting blend- then a few days to ship, but thats after a day or 14 sitting in a mixing lot...my first one fell off the radar for about 10 days in the mixing lot(kzinti couldnt really get any info after ship unless they went by rail) the day it finally moved, it arrived at the dealer within a few hours- but then the carhauler ate it, and had to start over- that day sucked soooo bad...three months and couldnt even get a test drive...still it all worked out for the best, as had I gotten that first one it would have owned me instead of the other way around- was too obsessed over it, forgot its just a car- although a cool car its twin sister arrived 2 months later, and while I'm a little careful with it, it still goes to the store, goes in the rain, even on dry days in the winter(just couldnt drive it in the snow- may be just a tad obsessed still, but point is, I'm enjoying the heck out of it yearround- it wont last forever, neither will I, so might as well enjoy it as much as possible- these cars are a blast to drive, and although 'more power' is always wanted, I really think with the gearing/tires much more might screw up the near perfect balance of it all...but still more power= more fun at the strip for sure best I got to date was 13.91@102 100% stock- hear guys can hit 13.6 stock, , I will be trying again this summer- then a got an idea on a simple non warranty/non reflash true cold air setup

My waiting was pretty long. I had to wait 6 months after seeing my 1st 05 in order to have my financing lined up. THEN the 3 month wait after the 06 Order Banks opened. I lived for my weekly chats with the ERL.

Update.
I have “Blend date” 5/14/2007, with a build date of Jun 4, “I know the week of” and a delivery week of Jun 11-16, two more weeks-ish. My wish list is up to 10 items, one already came in, and thanks Ben “Fastrack” the front license bracket looks great, now I just need a car to put it on. When we drive by the Ford dealer, my three year old, asks if that is Dada’s car in the lot, he is as ready as I am for our first road trip.

Thanks for the support group.

Jeff

Almost there - the good thing about waiting is that you appreciate your ordered vehicle even longer than if you bought it off the lot. At least I do anyway!!

Waiting is the hardest part. Even the buy off the lot people like myself end up waiting for one thing or another. Hang in there.

Just do like you would if you were in the airport, barber shop or anywhere else you have to wait. Read lots of mustang magazines and dream about all of the upgrades and mods you want to do.

Start buying your mods now.

I had the Steeda Ultralite lowering spings boxed in the garage before the car left Flat Rock!
