The wait and worries
In June, I ordered a Vista Blue GT, IUP through Military Auto Sales, a good deal. I'm on deployment so the wait is bearable, since I'm not home to drive it anyway. I'm scheduled to pick it up about a week after my return.
Since I've been reading the forum, I've developed a few concerns about the delivering dealership (it seems most concerns are about the dealerships). The delivering dealership really has nothing to do with sale of the car, they simply act as the delivery coordinator for which they recieve a $250 fee. The car is built and my concerns are:
-If it shows up early to the dealership, will it get driven around as a demo or borrowed by the staff?
-Will the dealership find some hidden fee for me to pay before I get the car? (I expect that they will try to sell me the paint, interior, undrcoating stuff, which I will politely but absolutely decline).
-Will they put a dealers sticker/emblem on it?
-Will they try to wax it before delivery (I'd rather they just give it a rinse and I'll do the rest).
Anyway, maybe I'm just paranoid
. Has anyone had any negative experiences with delivery from Military Auto Sales? Any info good or bad on Monarch Ford in Exeter, CA?
Looking forward to getting home and can't wait for delivery, when I get the '06 my dailt driver '66 will get a well deserved rest/engine bay resto before spring. This forum is great and I really enjoy it. I'm armed with all kind's of info, sadly no '06 yet. Thanks to all.

Jim,
First of all come back safe. :usa:
Second in answer to your questions:
I have not bought direct from military sales but the people I know that have usually have a variety of experiences. It really depends on the dealership delivered too.
The dealer sticker will most likely be placed on the vehicle unless you specify that you do not desire it. I recommend emailing the dealership with that along with your desires to not have it driven as a demo, waxed, etc. Then just be aware of excessive mileage when you pick it up. Do a fairly close walkaround as well.
As far as the extra fees, I have never heard of that happening but there is always a first time. ... and you are picking up the car in Cali.

Hmm... seems there are some duplicate threads out there again. I don't know if there is a problem with the site recently but ....
