THE SC was great. Lots of power. And i went through a set of Tires every summer. This was mostly normal driving.
Since this is a centrifical SC, you wont notice it until about 3000rpm. Anything under that and the car feels as normal.
And be prepared to shift fast, cause that 6500 RPM fuel cut off comes pretty quick, specially in 1st grear. The car just pulls and pulls.
Funny thing is....I always wondered why ricers had those BIG stupid shift lights/tach on there dash well...Now i know. You need a shift que. When your hammering through the first 2 gears.
And the nice thing about centrifical SCs is that they do NOT affect your fuel ecomony unless your actually using up the extra HP.
Unlike the ROOTS or SCrewTYpe, like Kenny or Whipple, which are very innficient.
Expect the GT500 to be very thirsty!!
The new GT40(sorry GT) has the worst gas mileage of any SuperCar and it uses the Root SC.
The downside. You HAVE to use premium fuel all the time.
And if you live in an area with cold weather and you plan to drive you car in the Winter, you will damage the SC in cold weather.
eg. I live in Canada, i used my 1999 all year round. During one winter we had an extremely cold spell. (-30C, or -22F(or is that -86F), not sure about the conversion from Celcius).
In anycase, i started my car up one COLD morning and all the teeth on the SC shattered. It was replaced under warranty, but they told me that they would not do that again. I think they know have operating temperatures in affect, and won't honor your warranty if you go over them. So i ended up taking the SC out every winter.
Overall. I would recommend it. I will be putting one on my 2007 Stang when it get it.
