voltage reg. for 4 speaker system w/new h/u
i just ordered a new head unit from jvc with built in hd radio etc. i have the four speaker system. NO SHAKER. i am supposed to get teh wireing harness and mounting kit for it with it from sonic electronix. Is this all i need to install or do i need a voltage reg.. i heard you do for shaker systems but i assume thats because of the amps they have. i dont think i do on mine though right. i just want to make sure. any help is appreciated. thanks!!

I don't think you need it if you don't have factory amps. I know for sure you need it with the shaker 500+1000's. Here is a write up I did when I installed mine. I did a different head unit than you but if you do end up needing the voltage regulator all the info you should need is here:

I had the basic (non Shaker) 4 speaker system and only needed the harness to put my Sony head unit in it. I did have to get an adapter for the antenna to fit the radio. I think Ford uses a Chrysler style antenna plug. Found the adapter at Circuit City for about $10 but it was listed as being for a Chrysler vehicle.
