I ordered an 06 Mustang GT on 7/7 and have a build date of the week of 8/15. My dealer still cannot get a full VIN# only the first two digits (1Z) and the last eight digits (65107874). Is this normal? Does anyone have a full VIN for their 06 order?

Also I have a printout called the Single Vehicle Detail Information (where I got the partial VIN information) and it has a column called Delay/Trace Information. under this it says NO OPEN TRACE. Can anyone interpret this for me.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong..... if you have a build date, there is a full VIN available. My build date is also the week of 8/15 and I have the full VIN for my car. I can't answer your other questions, but there are people on this board who probably can.

It should be 1ZVHT85H165XXXXXX for the GT coupe and 1ZVHT82H665XXXXXX for the GT vert.

Actually, I think you have that backward; I ordered a GT Premium coupe, and my VIN is 1ZVHT82H465xxxxxx, and if I remember correctly, the two-digit "8X" designates the body style . . .

 

Dude... be glad you have a build date I ordered more than a month before you and I'm still C/U... just be happy.

 

how did you get such a quick build date? i have been waiting since 6/14 and still no date

 

I was told that it would be built on a Priority 10 on the Z plan. But my DORA says the priority is 01. Is this possible, I heard that a 10 was the lowest for a dealership?

My build date may be due to what I ordered, GT Premium, Black with the
Red interior, automatic, 64E wheels, Interior color accent Pkg.

The odd thing is that my dealer can't come up with a full VIN on the car.

An 01 priority is assigned by the region so if you are 01, the order will pull pretty quick.

 

If you have the last 8 digits, you do have a full vin and your dealer should be able to give it to you.

 

How do you know or tell if your priority has changed? I was 40 when I ordered mine 6/10 and I haven't heard anything still C/U

 

How does Joe Public get an 01? Thought everything below 10 was plant internal or VIP.

 

I also have a priority of 01. When it was ordered, though I had a priority 14 and the priority changed to 01 once I had a build date. I am scheduled for week of August 15. So maybe all priorities switch to 01 once they are scheduled.
