Wink

I was also wondering what they would look like...their is an abandoned flea market right down the road from me and FEMA or someone bought it and they are starting to store all of the flood/ hurricane damaged cars there...i have been wondering if any 05/06 mustangs were there but there not letting just anyone in the lot....but from the first couple of rows i've seen its SO sad...some look like they were just bought before the Hurricane and many other VERY nice cars!

Anyone who thinks they might want to buy one of these flooded out cars, might do a little research on how to detect a "Flood Car". One of the networks hidden camera programs showed just how sneaky the car dealers can be. These cars will have many, many problems throughout their road lifetime. There ought to be a law similar to the lemon law or something like a "Salvage Title" for any car that gets flooded. I hope Ford realizes that it needs to get these cars out of the hands of crooked car dealers and destroy them or completely rebuild them back at the factory.

I can't believe that this happened. I guess no one saw this comming. I bet no one in the insurance business will ever insure a business below sea level!!

It's funny you say that because that's exactly what is going to happen. The dealer gets a flood salvage title and they get insurance money for all the cars flooded. People still buy the flood cars though for different purposes. I know we buy flood cars and burnt cars for our auto tech class at school.

My question is this-who is actually gonna rebuild all over again when this could happen during any hurricane season

The dealership was in my assigned SAR sector. Here is a pic about ten days after the hurricane.

By that time, the water had receded about 4 feet and we had plenty of time to take pictures.

A row of soggy V6's. A week earlier, all you could see were the rooftops.

Me and Huey on top of the Superdome parking garage.

It's a 1969 model, same as my first Mustang.

H60Dog,
Those are great pictures, and thanks for sharing. I'm a little confused though. According to all the media, only poor neighborhoods were flooded. By the looks of the houses next to the dealership, Katrinia went after everybody. I guess Bush doesn't like people with nice houses either.

Back in 1997 we had the flood of the century up here but because of our floodway that was built in the 50's and fast acting on everyones part winnipeg itself was spared but rural manitoba wasn't so lucky it was right up to the top of sign posts and any dealer that didn't get his stock moved lost it .
They looked exactly the same and they all went for salvage because of the dead cows ,oil ,gas and any other chemical or bacteria that was in the water .
A few older cars went to one of those pic-a-part for yourself wreckers because nobody wanted to buy them at the insurance auction house and I can tell you no one touched those cars at the wrecker for that reason .
No one want to get sick pulling a few parts off of one of those cars .
