C'mon, it was the angle of the camera! I only lost by about a car and half, go easy on me! Never the less, a loss is a loss. Good run Chris, I'll be looking for my revenge on June 18th.

Here's a pic I snapped with my phone while waiting in line.

Your right it is the angle, but it sure looks like it took off a lot faster.
It's wierd how far away the people had to be.

Those 2500's couldn't have been stock. They run somewhere between 7-10 seconds 0-60. Like every1 else said, they must be running some serious stuff under the hood.
But why would someone bother tunning a truck...i mean....it's a truck...not a sports car.

Those were just middle weights. If they were serious, they would have been putting out a a bunch of black smoke.

... Sad part was you can hear the audience laughing.

I was looking at the bassani set up. In due time.

If they were laughing, they obviously know zero about the modern diesel pickup. With very little work, you can get some amazing performance out of them. Here is a picture of my 2003 Dodge Cummins 4x4 and the dyno run I did last year. Truck is stock except for a simple $450 fuel box similar to the Predator. No, it won't take my Mustang but it will sure surprise you at a stoplight if you’re not ready. . . . . .

I am not suprised by the trucks. Friend at work is close to 600 rwhp out of his (cant remember the torque) and takes it to the evergreen speedway track to run 1/8 mile drags. He usually wins.

Great Vid of the jlt, I could hear the difference for sure, do you have exhaust on the car, or are you running the stock system?

Do you notice any performance difference with the jlt intake?

Yes, it growls more and as you can see in the video, it pulls more.

Nice tape. They sure keep you back a long way from the track
[/quote]

They had two runways. One for the race and one for the return. I guess they didn to want people to stand in between them. Scary part was a T/A was running. His t-tops blew off sky high and smashed down on the track. So I guess that is why they kept people farther away. The way they made it sound is they had to be real nice to even be at the airport. So I guess they wanted to be extra cautious.

I think they were laughing at me and how much the truck was beating me.

We tried the zoom function and it didn't work. It was a canon powershot camera. It can zoom on pictures but not video. We tried all kinds of tricks to make it zoom.

No exhaust. Only performance mod is the JLT.

Ya...with those you have to zoom in before you start recording video.

I tried that. I also tried zooming in as a picture camera, then switching to a video camera. It just brought it back to the original view. Every thing we tried brought us back to the original view.

The compay hosting the race took real video being right next to the car. They will make some compilations and put them on their web site later.

Kluski, that's exactly what I meant. If they knew the capabilities of the modern diesel, they would NOT have been laughing at you!

By the way, glad to see you had such a good run against the other '05. Your setup is obviously working for you Now its time to find a real drag strip where you can get some numbers.

Me and a 67 Camero

The Dodge 2500

My First Official Race Kill

PittPerson vs a Corvette

They had a "Most View" pictures page. My 05 was the 7th most viewed pic out of almost 300 pictures. Goes to show the people want to see the new Ponies.

believe it or not, not by much....half a car length maybe? I had the lead for the majority of the run but he walked past me towards the end. I'm thinking he was either sleeping at the start or spun a bit.

EDIT: Here's a video of one of my runs at the flashlight drags. me vs. VW

That was a pretty cool video, nice editing.
Those trucks didn't really smoke you that bad... I bet if you were on slicks you would have been even. It looked like they were racing in 4wd, if that's even possible w/o destroying stuff.
