doesn't the auto have 3.55 gears?

 

I saw an 02 Vert run a 13.8 stock. That's not exactly impressive from a coupe. Granted they may have had better conditions, but 14s still stink. This car is going to be a laughing stock with Camaro guys. It doesn't help that most of the guys I know think the car looks ugly too. I wish Ford wouldn't keep adding weight to their cars. The F-150 gets terrible gas mileage and weighs a ton .. but it has 300 hp. Weight stinks.

 

Im sorry but this car is not ugly, I have Gm friends and they even like how this car looks. Ohh well maybe some are jealous but everyone has their opinion!

 

dallasw77: I agree with you man .. but you gotta remember I'm a teenager. Most teenagers are bone heads who don't like it because it's retro. They're rather see a riced out piece of crap .. sad, but true. Luckily most of those teenage boneheads can't afford a car that costs that much anyways, so they are not the target market.

 

Manual should be anywhere from 3 to 7 tenths quicker than a stock auto, so that would put the manual at 13.5 to 13.9. No complaints about that.

two things that i dont like abou this video 1) We never get a shot of the time...we take his word for it. Milan is known for not having the E.T.'s up...there always broken down. 2) Is it just me or was that a lame launch...i would love to see the reaction time.. ...i was however impressed in how quick the car got going. I have no doubt this is a mid-13 car.

 

i just looked at the video again and he wasnt even staged properly...watch the tree as well...that was a bad run all together

 

14.2 for an automatic is good, try the current car with automatic it probably high 14s may be low 15s.

I don't know why you guys are trying to defend this run... 14.2 is a shame and at only 96mph What a serious let down after all this hype.

 

As soon as I get my GT I will let you all know how it does at the California Speedway 1/4 track. We will see then how it does!!!

 

Oh my goodness!

You guys complaining about that run are so easily set in your ways! Even an Enzo can run a 14.2@96!! That doesn't mean that's ALL it can run. Another example is that Michael Jordan can dunk on rim adjusted to 8', but does that mean that he can't dunk on a 10' or even 11' rim?? NO!!

If you are basing your opinion of how quick this car is on ONE run from ONE person in an AUTO car where we didn't even SEE the ET, don't buy one!! That'll leave more on the lot for those of us who don't only see the car for its speed, but for its appearance as well as its new platform and awesome interior!

Posts like this are ridiculous! Were you driving the car? If not, how can you say what a let down? Without way more information, this video is useless as a barometer for the 2005 Mustang's performance!

This is not in defense of this car just defense of common sense.

 

From the other forum he said it was a 5 speed and also said -

"I've got a second video of the same 05 mustang running a 14.8 but I didn't yell out the mph, and I don't remember it. The 14.8 run was before the 14.2 run."

I think the driver just stinked.
