14.20 et, not bad. It looked like an Automatic equipped car from the way it sounded and shifted.

Interesting... Motor Trend lists the '99 Mustang GT as having a 14.0et. Guess we'll have to wait and see when the '05 gets flogged, but it had better beat the last model.

Ford better hope its faster then 14.2!!!
Even at 14.0 Ford has failed. Come on, 300hp should give you at least 13.8.

who knows who was driving it and how hard they were driving it.

I am sure the '05 is capable of much more, but getting a good timeslip is dependant on many factors, the driver, the track itself, the weather.

I am confident that the '05 will dip deep into the 13's, epecially if you beat on the car and powershift.

they may not have been pushing that car very hard. i didn't hear any tires screaming or signs that they really nailed it. i'm sure we'll find out for sure soon.

14.2 @96 is pathetic, but I'm willing to bet the new GT is a solid mid 13 second car.

The manual should break 13s easily...
hahah,
I don't care if there are vids released of it being a 14.5-15.5 car....
just makes the other guy 'ill informed' when he lines up against one

Cars can easily be 12 second cars, but never leave the 14s...depending on the setup and driver

Oh, does it look like its an auto? If so, that's pretty darn good. If's its a manual tranny, I'm a bit worried though I know its only one run and driver skill has a lot to do with it.

I was hoping for consistant mid/high 13's with the occassional low 13. Basically Mach 1 times.

We don't don't how hard it was being driven. I'll reserve judgement until MM&FF tests the '05. They'll wring it out.

I'm sure this isnt the FIRST TIME ford has run it in the 1/4. If 14.2 was the best the manual could do, they wouldn't be releasing it.

Ford's in trouble if that's what the car runs.

they may not have been pushing that car very hard. i didn't hear any tires screaming or signs that they really nailed it. i'm sure we'll find out for sure soon.
If the car is really underrated it should have run in the 13s without pushing it hard.
