Vert Owners, Windows Up or Down?
#1
Waiting for my vert and wondering what are the different effects of driving with the top down and the windows up or down. What is your preference? Which way works best for cold air driving?

It looks rediculous to have the top down and windows up. You'd be better off buying a coupe and installing a sunroof.

If I have the top down, the windows are down. I did not notice much of a difference when I tried the windows up thing. If it is too cold with the top down, put it up, thats why we bought convertibles, so we can have the best of both worlds.

Top down, windows down.
In cold weather, top down, windows down, heater on.
If it ain't raining, most likely top is down.
Fringe benefit of sunny So Cal. B)

Same here, only difference i'm in nor cal, as long as its not raining, the top is usually down, thats why I bought a convertible, right?
It may be 50 degrees out, but if the sun is shining, the top is down.
Also windows are down. Tried the windows up once and wasn't liking it. It did knock the wind down a bit but the wind in the face is just another nice feature of the convertible.

Top down with windows down looks and feels a lot better. When the windows are up, you defeat the purpose of putting the roof down.

See it a lot with people with A/C during the day as well. There is definitely a difference.

Hmmm. Another thread created that provokes a debate based on personal tastes. Gotta love it. Ok, so here is my opinion. When the top is down, I usually have the windows down. But, on extremely windy days (which are not unusual around this part of Texas) when doing 70 on the freeway, I will put the windows up to cut down on the turbulance in the car. You still have the open sky above you, as well as the HOT Texas sun burning your neck! On the other hand, on cooler days I may put the windows up and the heater on, but again, only on the freeway. My .02 cents.

For me, if the top is down the windows are down. If it is chilly I'll crank up the heater controls. If I can't get comfortable that's my signal to (regrettably) put the top back up.
Having the windows up just looks funky to me, personally. If it adds some driving comfort for you, go for it!
