Valve cover ideas.....??

Ok....I got a spare set of valve covers and I want to make them pop
but Im at a loss for ideas.

-initially I thought just powdercoat them black.

Then I was thinking of airbrushed ideas but that may be too pricey.

Now im thinking powdercoat the drivers side bright red and the pass side blue.
Like the bar lights. Red on one side and blue on the other.
I thought that would look cool and unique....but i dunno.

Anyone have any ideas??

Here's a thread with a few ideas. https://themustangsource.com/showthr...ght=cam+covers

I went with black powder coating for now as I wanted to maintain a stealthy look, but still have my stockers as I may do something different down the road. Never seen one with a different color per side, but that would definitely be unique

Nice bay!! Thanks for the link. I will go lookie see-

Some part of me wants to do them white. Man would that POP and the car
does have a black & White theme going on.

but I know white would prolly discolor or look bad in a short period of time....

I will take a snap of my engine bay this afternoon to show you my canvas that im working with.

White would really pop... but I would more concerned about keeping them clean

Yeah, my engine bay is coming together. I am in the process of polishing my Moroso tanks along with the fuse box and brake reservoir covers. That will give me just a little "bling" to offset all the black.

depending on how much you want to spend... Since you are going with the Barricade/transformers theme why not get some air brushing done of a lot of gears and parts and such that starts from the front then fades into like an orange (or whatever color you want) as it gets narrower down towards the back of the valve cover set over a black background.

Ill see if I can find a picture that kind of explains it

Personally I like the idea to make them white. Maybe with a black decepticon logo on it and some black lines.

Kind of like the old FRPP ones for the Fox, but simulate the ribs in black paint and add the decepticon logo on the driver side.

Imagine the black is white, the polished is black, and in a visible spot on the drivers front top side there would be the decepticon.

I had Hardkore Metal Finishing do mine in black and they came our great. Mine are epoxy coat and not powder coated. With Epoxy coating you don't have to remove the seals or plastic parts, but with powder coating you do.
Looking at your engine pictures you already have gloss black items and your valve covers I think it would look good in gloss black.
Look at my last picture, the supercharger is the stock black and my plans are to epoxy coat it in gloss black to help match everything.

I'll send you a PM too.

Here's a few they have done and some other things.

Polished

Front Brake Caliper

Rear Brake Caliper

My engine. CAI tube is also epoxy coated.

Looks good!

I wanted blue but my only hesitation is that blue is a tad lighter than Ford's old blue blocks. So I went with black.

Dupli-color Engine Enamel 'Ford Blue'. IT is a little lighter than the old blue that Ford used on the engines but I like it.
