Well, my 05GT was almost damaged by a valet parker today.
God they make me nervous.
He almost scraped the bottom side of the car on the curb - came within millimeters i think.
Why don't they take more care !!
And who knows what happens when you're not there to watch!!
Thoughts of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" float through my mind as I eat my dinner at the restaurant.
Unfortuntely this was Beverly Hills. Yea, try to find parking your self - good luck and be prepared to hike.

I took my car to New Orleans this past summer. WE stayed at a hotel on Boutbon Street and I had no choice but to valet it. They hit my car with another, or backed mine into something. They did pay the repair bill but I'll never valet it again.

Is it possible to have a "valet tune" that could be switched over to quickly without having to go through the normal tune loading process?

On my WRX I had the Cobb Accessport that reflashed a base tune, but then allowed you to toggle between a bunch of other tunes (valet set the rev limitor at 4k; antitheft allowed it to crank but not start). I'm hoping that SCT will come up with something similar in the future.

I've seen some pretty scary things perpetrated by valet parkers. Just the other day, for instance, I saw a valet attendant run down the street, hop into an Infiniti G35 coupe, start it, gun it and scrape the undercarriage as he left the parking lot.
I think they do everything in haste so they can get more done and garner bigger tips, but the customers are often unaware how shabbily their property is being treated.

Yah I guess I just like the whole process. Drive up to a swank hotel, Valet kiss your hiney, tip them. Come back out...."Your car sir" Ahh yes here it is....everyone staring. Speed off and ride

i always go to this really really fine italian restaurant once in a while in Cherry Hill on a few dates, they always have vallet parking, i never let the guys touch my car. I let me date out, and then I go to park the car myself, they get upset a little bit, but ever since one valley parker a long time ago damaged my dad's BMW by backing into a cement parking post, i cant trust them, especially with my car

Found this juicy bit of news:
------------------------------
"LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- A 20-year-old hotel parking
attendant took a Ferrari on a joy ride and crashed into a
tree, a sheriff's lieutenant said Saturday.
Justin Burghardt, a valet at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel,
and another hotel employee, allegedly took the $170,000
car for a spin early Friday and hit a tree on hotel grounds
shortly after taking the keys from the owner, Orange County
sheriff's Lt. Larry Abbott said. The owner's name was
withheld, Abbott said.
The 1998 Ferrari 355 F-1 was severely damaged and may
be unsalvageable. Neither Burghardt nor his co-worker,
whose name was withheld, were injured. It was unclear
whether they remained employed at the Ritz Carlton.
The Ferrari, which can accelerate to 60 mph in five seconds,
has a top speed of 183 mph. Enthusiasts say the car, with
its racing-style gear shift, can be difficult for an
inexperienced motorist to drive."

A buddy of mine used to be a valet. He has told some real horror stories of the things that valets do. He said " jump the speed bumps" was always a favorite past time of the valets.

If valet service is all they have where I plan to go, I change my plans and find somewhere else.

NEVER It seems to annoy friends a little when we get to a place and they know they are going to have to go through the parking thing with me, yet everyone aways wants me to drive!!
