ok, im pretty sure i wanna order an 05 V6 (i cant afford the GT right now) for those who have ordered a V6 recently or maybe a few months back -- how long did it take you to get it? i know they say 6-8weeks for the car, and the GT's take FOREVER to get, but since they are rolling out the V6s fairly quick...any idea from a consumer or dealer on this forum on the REAL wait time? i just want it the base deluxe model thats charcoal cloth interior and the car a 5spd stick thats windveil blue...thats all


PS - are there any major issues with the V6s like from what i hear with the GT's? IE - rear end whinning noise, CEL going off, that kinda stuff

 

Why order? There are so many here in my city its rediculous, no gts but on average 10-16 per dealer on v6s , so I am sure you can find one you like somewhere, instead of waiting. goodluck

Down here you can pretty much pick a color and model.........Piled up on lots like 04s in September here........And we have even had a yellow GT sitting on the lot for over a week.

 

There are plenty of V6s on lots, true, but very few with IUP. If you are set on IUP, you'll either have to wait a bit for them to start showing up at dealerships again, or order one.

Actually after I bought Eleanor, my dream mustang came in- LL with DC cloth, shaker and diet iup + spinners too bad I can't do an even trade.

 

im just looking for everything basic on it...no options what so ever...i dont want the shaker systems since ill replace the head unit, dont want the active theft alarm since ill just get a lojack system instead..all i want is:
Windveil Blue
5spd manual
Dark Charcoal cloth interior

Ordered 11/20, still don't have. It was build on Jan. 24, shipped on Jan. 25 - dealer called today to say that it should be here a week from tomorrow, we'll see. So it will be almost 3 months from order to delivery if that's the case.

Mine has IUP plus 5 spd - two things that slowed it down. But I agree with the idea of trying to find one off a lot - many dealers are getting in the bargaining mood at this point.

 

Can V6 orders be placed with IUP right now?

 

Yes, we had a V6 vert with IUP scheduled today (which is available for sale). This was a pretty good week for commodities, hopefully it continues.

 

So, if V6s are being produced with IUP, would it be safe to assume we'll start seeing more show up on the dealer lots soon? I'm trying to decide if I want to order or wait for what I want to show up all by itself.

 

Ordered mine on 1/15/05. First build date was 1/24, now the dealer is telling me it was pushed back to 2-14 beacause of IUP delays. He tells me 1-2 weeks after build date to expect delivery. I wonder how reliable this estimate is.

Hello, longtime lurker here, please be gentle! I was wondering when the order banks open on the '06, and how long it usually takes from order to delivery. I know I am getting a little ahead, but I am not able to get an '05, so like the name says "06Hopeful"! I'll be getting either a White GT or a Lime gold GT. Not sure of which yet, and not sure of manual or automatic transmission. Input much appreciated. Thanks

The wait shouldn't be as long for an 06. Seems like most of the people here are waiting on average around 3 months right now.

 

If you live in the Portland/Vancouver metro area the only V6's on the lot are w/o IUP or have IUP with only the Shaker 1000 and exterior sport appearence package. Even then there are only maybe 20 total V6 Mustangs around. You almost have to order.
