V6 and GT, IUP, available Vancouver Island
I am a long time reader of the forums. This is my first post so hope I don't mess it up, particularly the attachments.
Just placed my order for a V6 Convertible, Windveil Blue, Light Graphite leather, black top; automatic; bright machined wheels; wheel locking kit; front seat side air bags; interior upgrade package; convertible top soft boot; bodyside mouldings. MSRP is $Cdn 32,525. Purchased at Joe Cunningham Ford, Parksville, B.C. (on Vancouver Island) for below MSRP.
The above mentioned dealer just received into inventory a V6 automatic coupe (Windvwil Blue with Light Graphite leather and IUP - very similar to the convertible I ordered). Pictures attached. They also have a GT 5-speed coupe (Satin Silver with Light Graphite leather and IUP). If interested contact my salesman David at Joe Cunningham Ford. Tell him Grant sent you.
Here is an interesting statistic for those Canadian readers of the forum who have been complaining about Canadian retail prices. In the US, the deluxe V6 convertible is $US 23,870 and the deluxe coupe is $US 18,945. (These figures are from the Ford price level code 540 dated 1/5/2005). That is a difference for the convertible of $US 4,925. Using a current exchange rate of 0.82, that is a difference of $Cdn 6,006.
The V6 convertible in Canada is $Cdn 27,995 and the coupe is $Cdn 23,795. That is a difference for the convertible of $Cdn 4,200. In addition, Canadian convertibles include the convertible top soft boot (59B) as standard at N/C whereas in the US it is a $US 115 option. So the increased price for the V6 convertible in Canada is about $Cdn 2,000 less than what our American friends are paying (I haven't made a comparison for the GT convertible but expect it is similar). All in all, if I have this correct, I think we should thank Ford of Canada for this one.
BTW, for Canadian readers, the Build and Price feature on the Ford of Canada web site (www.ford.ca) is now updated and includes pricing for convertibles.
Hope the foregoing is helpful. I will try to attach pictures of the Windveil Blue coupe that that my dealer has available (sorry, I was unable to get any of the silver GT).
Previous Mustangs I have owned:
1970 Mustang convertible
1983 Mustang convertible
