I had been to the Ford Innovation drive in LA, didn't get a chance to post this stuff earlier.
It was a great experience, thanks to everyone on this site for passing on the info about the innovation drives. The course was really small, only a 2nd gear course...so didn't get a chance to rip the GT and V6 (Yes, I got a chance to drive both... B) )
The car is awesone, great handling.....awesome looks as we all know and I will get to know about the power when I have my own GT in a few months.
The reps from Ford were very helpfull, there was a Auto Redfire V6 on display which was later moved to the driving course and replaced by a Black Stick V6. (Its LA more people wanted to drive the auto)
These are the few things that the Ford reps told me:

Base V6 will be under 20 Grand an Base GT will be under 25 grand (now I think the base GT is the GT deluxe)
The car will hit dealer lots in October
If you place and order today then you will get the car in the Nov, Dec time frame
Ford is planning to send atleast two stangs to each dealership in the country, so that every single dealer has it in their showrooms
Got a chance to listen to the shaker 1000, it was awesome...didn't get to hear the 500 to do a comparision.
Tried out the My color feature, its pretty cool.....Red dials look real cool with the interiors IMO
Rep was mentioning all good things about the security system and he said its a very good thing to have on this car specially on the convertible
The hp/torque ratings are underrated, thats what he told me but not by how much
Ford is sticking with the Vert time frame, no change in that

Hope this info is usefull for somebody.

That would be good. I ordered the second one. Actually, the Dealer said the person before me ordered a convertible. I don't have a VIN or build date yet, but still hopeful to be in the first run for my dealer.

 

By the two stangs, I mean for the dealership to display on their floors. The units that have been pre-ordered by customers will be delivered as and when they are built. These two units that the rep told me were for the dealerships and NOT customer orders.

so you like the shaker1000, eh? in your opinion, was it ground thumping bass? or just an overly loud stereo? i'd imagine w/ 2 10's in the trunk it would have enough umph...i just want to know how much you think it's got?

I really thing it was ground thumping bass... the rep had me turn off the shaker to simulate a 500 type of sound, it was not nearly as good as the 1000.
From what I understood, there is an option with with u can turn the sub woofers in the trunk on and off, believe me you wouldn't want to turn them off.......the sound is awesome
I am still thinking if it is worth 1300 bucks, i might do a comparision before making the decision.

glad to know it sounded that good. i'd leave the subs on.

i guess if it's really not enough thump for some, you can switch out the speakers and put in your own amps. it does come with a box that's tucked away in the corner of the trunk. (as much as you can tuck something like that)

btw...does anyone have pictures or have you seen where the amps are? i don't remember ever seeing them or seeing how the wires are run to the speakers/subs. are they mounted underneath the rear dash?
